Orrico, Ho Chop Up Six-Way Pot

Level 17 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Six players saw a flop of 1072 when Brian Orrico bet from the hijack, Ryan Leng folded the cutoff, and John Ho called on the button. Sergey Zaporozhets got out of the way from the small blind, but big blind James Obst and Jason Remshardt under the gun also called.

The turn came the 4 and Orrico bet again, with Ho and Remshardt calling and Obst folding.

Orrico put out another bet on the J and both remaining opponents called. Orrico turned over 77 for a set to earn the high pot, while Ho had A3 to win the low.

Zepek Chopped Up By Three Players

Level 17 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Michael Zepek was all in by the flop on a board of 56Q as Bryan Micon put out a bet and Clayton Mozdzen called in the big blind, as did a player under the gun.

All three players checked the 10 turn before Mozdzen led out on the A river. Both opponents called.

Micon had A947, Mozdzen JK47 for a straight and the same low, while the under-the-gun player also had 74. They split the low pot three ways, while Mozdzen took the high pot, leaving Zepek with nothing but a walk to the exit.

Zepek left behind the red dice he uses as a card protector. "He left his randomizer. I think we should leave it here for the next player in this seat. Whoever busts him gets it," Micon said after Zepek had already left.

One week into the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) and there's already a clear-cut favorite for Player of the Year.

No, it's isn't Shaun Deeb, Daniel Negreanu, or Phil Hellmuth, although all those three individuals are certainly capable of winning the prestigious award. The poker player we're talking about is Chad Eveslage, and his red hot start this summer is no fluke.
