Alt Sniffs Out Semi-Bluff
Level 19
: Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Dinesh Alt was in the blender after facing an all-in 261,000 river bet from Dennis Brand, who started the day with 461,000.
Alt looked hard at the board, which contained 7♥6♦10♠2♥A♥, and then Brand, who hardly moved. Alt took his time to consider his options, putting his elbow on the rail and resting his chin for up to a minute.
Then, he made the call.
Alt: A♦9♠
Brand: 10♣8♠
Alt caught the semi-bluff by pairing his ace on the river and was awarded a large pot, which only elevated the Day 1 chip leader’s stack. He also sent Brand to the rail.
