Hellmuth's Board Gets Worse, Song Takes It on Fifth

Level 10

Razz

Kevin Song: XxXx/2x3xAx
Phil Hellmuth: XxXx/3xKxKx - folded
Opponent: XxXx/AxQx2x - folded

Kevin Song completed on third street and was called by Phil Hellmuth and another opponent.

Song continued betting on fourth and both opponents called to fifth, where Song bet again.

Hellmuth, having paired his king, quickly folded, while the other opponent studied Song's board for a moment before joining Hellmuth in the muck.

"Slow play no good," Hellmuth told Song, who raked in the pot.

Simao Can't Force Out Kokko

Level 10

No-Limit Hold'em

Joao Simao three-bet from the big blind to 4,400 and Olli Kokko came along from the button.

The flop came K36 and Simao continued for 3,500. Kokko called to the J turn, where Simao fired out another 5,100.

Kokko again called and Simao checked the 7 river. Kokko quickly checked behind.

"Ace-high," Simao said.

"Unfortunately, it's not good," Kokko replied as he showed K5 to win the pot with a pair of kings.

Noja Spikes the Turn

Level 9

Limit Hold'em

Dan Zack raised from under the gun before Danielle Noja reraised next to act. A player in the cutoff called, as did Zack and they went three-handed to a 327 flop.

Action checked over to the cutoff who fired out a bet and both Zack and Noja called. The turn came the Q and the cutoff bet again.

Zack folded this time, but Noja stuck around to the 9 river and both players checked. Noja turned over KQ for a turned pair of queens.

"Ay, ay, ay," his defeated opponent said as he mucked. "Would you call the river," he asked as Noja just smiled as he took in the pot.

Moss Drops a Pot, Still Sitting on Big Stack

Level 9

Pot-Limit Omaha

Frederic Moss and Lawrence Brandt went to a flop of 365 and checked through to the A turn.

Moss checked from the small blind, then called when Brandt, in the cutoff, bet 1,500. The river came the 9 and Brandt fired out 4,000 this time.

Moss quickly called as Brandt showed J7 for the turned flush to win the pot. Despite losing that hand, Moss still sits on one of the larger stacks currently in the room, while 2021 Main Event champion Koray Aldemir took his seat at this table while this hand was taking place.

Buchman Stands Pat

Level 9

2-7 Triple Draw

Eric Buchman and an opponent had already built a sizeable pot before Buchman, on the button, bet after the second draw and his opponent called.

Buchman stood pat and his opponent took one on the third draw. Action checked to Buchman and he checked behind this time. His opponent showed a queen-low, but Buchman had 9x8x7x4x2x as last year's fourth-place finishe in this event and 2009 November Niner took the pot.
