Driessche Goes Three Streets Against Choi

Level 18 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Clement Van Driessche opened to 20,000 from early position and it folded around to Susan Choi in the big blind who made the call.

The flop fanned out A99 and Choi checked to Driessche who continued for 15,000, which Choi called. On the J turn Choi checked again and Driessche fired for 34,000. Choi took a few seconds, but eventually made the call.

The K completed the board and Choi checked a third time. Driessche went for another bet, this time to 85,000 and Choi went deep in the tank.

"You must have pocket aces the way you're betting," said Choi as she contemplated her decision.

"I'll lay my pocket pair down," announced Choi as she folded her hand.

Colin Mchugh

The PokerNews team was relayed two hands after the fact. Nacho Barbero opened to 21,000 from middle position and it folded to Colin Mchugh in the small blind who jammed for 137,000 total. The big blind got out of the way and Barbero called to put Mchugh at risk.

Colin Mchugh: 1010
Nacho Barbero: AQ

It was a coin-flip preflop, but when the board ran out J7774, it was the tens for Mchugh that held up to score a full double up off Barbero.

A few hands later, Barbero opened from under the gun to 21,000 and it folded to Mchugh in middle position who three-bet to 58,000. The rest of the table got out of the way and Barbero moved all in, covering the 293,000 total for Mchugh, who snap-called.

Colin Mchugh: AA
Nacho Barbero: 99

Mchugh found himself in great shape and would only need to dodge a nine. The board ran out Q442Q and the rockets for Mchugh secured another double up off Barbero within the same orbit.
