Dorourdian’s Kings Send Aces to Rail
Level 12
: Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Table 24 had a big hand showdown:
Amir Dorourdian had K♥K♣ in front of him and his opponent in late position had A♠A♣.
The aces, though, were in trouble because the flop showed 7♥9♠K♠, giving Dorourdian top set. The dealer placed 2♦ on the turn and 8♠ on the river to send Dorourdian’s opponent to the rail.
Dorourdian explained that he limped preflop with his big pocket pair and then the player on the button raised the action to 7,000. Dorourdian reraised, prompting the player with pocket aces to go all in, which Dorourdian called.
