Set Over Set Sends Woods to His Curtain Call

Level 23 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Big O

The player under the gun limped and action folded to the button who raised to 40,000. Joey Couden called in the small blind as did James Woods in the big blind. The player under the gun called as well and all four players headed to a Q2K flop.

Couden checked and Woods tossed out a bet of 80,000. The under-the-gun player and the button both folded to put action back on Couden.

After a moment, Couden check-raised pot totaling 370,000. Woods thought briefly before saying, "Okay, I'm all in."

Couden snap-called the rest and both players were headed to a run out with Woods at risk.

James Woods: AQQJ8
Joey Couden: AKK109

After seeing that he was on the wrong end of a set over set confrontation, he knew he was going to need some help with either another queen or a card on the turn that gave him a live low draw as he had the only possibility to make a low.

When the turn came the J, Woods was dead to the last queen in the deck. The river J sealed his fate in what would be his final scene of the tournament before exiting stage left.

Level 23 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Action folded to Shaun Deeb who raised the button and got called by Vangelis Kaimakamis in the big blind to see the 1037 flop.

Kaimakamis checked to Deeb who bet and got called by Kaimakamis, sending the duo to the Q turn.

Action checked through to the J river, which once again saw both players check through to showdown.

Kaimakamis showed the 10552 which was good enough for the whole pot as Deeb knuckled the table and tossed his cards into the muck.

Livingston Takes From Savill Again at a New Table

Level 23 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo

The table featuring Alex Livingston and Sterling Savill just broke, and Livingston and Savill found themselves moved to the same table once again.

"He hit the dirtiest river on me earlier," Savill told his new tablemates about their previous encounter.

"Not confirmed, by the way," Livingston replied.

Livingston then raised from early position and Savill called. The flop came Q108 and Livingston bet again. "I bet the most they would let me," Livingston said as Savill called.

The turn came the 3 and Livingston put out another bet. Savill called to the J river, where Livingston bet for the third time.

"This is a gift," Savill said as he tossed his chips across the table. Livingston turned over AAK5 for the rivered straight as he took the pot to cross 1,000,000.

"All skill getting dealt that hand," Livingston said.

Michael Lim: A1072
