Four ways to a flop of 3♦6♦A♣, Daniel Negreanu was facing a a bet of 7,000, which he raised to 25,000 with two players left to act behind. They both folded and the initial bettor also folded.
Negreanu showed the A♦J♦4♣5♠ to which one of the other players in the hand said, "I folded top two-pair!" Negreanu then responded with, "And it's a good fold! Seriously... what you're hoping for on the turn? I got a 2, a 7, a diamond, top-pair...". Indeed, there were a plethora of cards that could have improved Negreanu's hand on the turn or river.
A total of 567 entries joined the action to create a prize pool of $2,608,200 with the winner taking home $534,499. The top 86 will lock up a minimum cash of $8,000.
Cliff Josephy opened from early position and was called by Andrew Denick in the big blind. The flop came down K♠10♣6♣ and was checked in both spots.
The turn brought the 8♦. Denick bet 15,000 and Josephy called. The river was the 4♥. Denick announced pot, and the dealer counted out 58,000. Josephy thought about it briefly before tossing his cards into the muck.
The action folded to Jeremy Ausmus on the button who opened for 15,000 and Nick Schulman moved all in from the big blind for 36,000 total, which Ausmus quickly called.
Nick Schulman: A♣Q♥7♣3♥
Jeremy Ausmus: A♥Q♦8♥2♥
Both players had very similar hands and looked to be a good chance of a chop. The board, however, had other plans when it ran out Q♠6♣2♦J♥K♦ to give Ausmus two pair with queen-deuce to score the pot and send Schulman to the rail.
The action folded around to Kristen Foxen in the cutoff who opened to 8,000 and only Jeremy Ausmus made the call on the button.
The flop came 10♦8♥7♠ and both players checked their options to the 4♣ turn. Foxen took a moment before tossing out a bet of 16,000, and without much thought, Ausmus let his cards go.
