Vengrin Doubles Again

Level 15 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 12,000 ante

Jason Mercier opened to 16,000 from the cutoff only to see Matt Vengrin move all in for 188,000. After asking for a count, Mercier made the call to put his opponent at risk.

Both players stood pat after which Mercier turned over 9x8x7x5x4x. That hand came up just short of Vengrin's 9x8x5x3x2x to hand the at risk player another full double courtesy of Mercier.

Mercier Draws Two and Bets

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 9,000 ante

Galen Hall raised from the cutoff to 15,000 and got two calls in Yuri Dzivielevski from the button and Jason Mercier in the big blind leading to a three-way draw.

Mercier took two, Hall stood pat and Dzivielevski opted for one.

Mercier counted out chips and put a bet out of 28,000. Both Hall and Dzivielevski wasted little time in folding and sending the pot in Mercier's direction.

Chen Extends Lead

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 9,000 ante

James Chen opened to 18,000 from middle position before calling after Alex Livingston three-bet to 60,000 out of the small blind.

Livingston stood pat and then bet 21,000 once Chen took one. Chen responded with a raise to 100,000, which Livingston snapped off. His call was no good as Chen tabled 9x6x4x3x2x to take down a large pot and pass the 1,000,000 mark.

Vengrin Doubles Through Mercier

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 9,000 ante
Matt Vengrin
Matt Vengrin

Young Ko raised under the gun to 15,000 and Jason Mercier called from the small blind.

Matt Vengrin three-bet jammed from the big blind for 106,000.

Ko folded the action back to Mercier who thought briefly before putting in a call.

Both Mercier and Vengrin drew one card each and turned the other four over to sweat the squeeze.

Matt Vengrin: 9543
Jason Mercier: 7642

Mercier went to the draw ahead but upon squeezing his fifth card, he turned over the 4, pairing his four and giving Vengrin great odds to win as long as he could avoid pairing his nine or five.

Vengrin squeezed and turned over the 6, good for a full double.

Lang Gets Paid

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 9,000 ante

Mike Lang opened to 12,000 from under the gun and received a call from Ryutaro Suzuki in the big blind.

Suzuki took two to Lang's one after which action checked to Lang. He bet 25,000 and, after some thought, Suzuki made the call. Lang turned over 9x7x6x5x2x, which was sufficiently strong to take down the pot.
