Motoki Chips Up

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Rodrigo Motoki raised from the button to 8,000, Tommy Chen three-bet out of the small blind to 31,000 and Motoki called.

Chen slowed down on a flop of 1087. Motoki took the lead for 15,000 and Chen called.

The remainder of the hand checked to a showdown with a J turn and a 4 river. Chen was reluctant to show his hand so Motoki tabled AJ to claim the pot.

Motoyoshi Okamura raised to 8,000 from the hijack and was called by Shashank Jain in the small blind and Martins Adeniya in the big blind.

The J fell on the turn and Jain bet again for 16,000. This time only Okamura called.

Jain bet 15,000 when the 6 completed the board and Okamura called once more. Jain tabled KQ for top pair, but Okamura turned over KJ for two pair and collected the pot.

Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

In a flurry of chips hitting the felt, the exact action was missed as PokerNews caught up with the table. Phil Hellmuth in the hijack found himself all in for his remaining 127,000 on a flop that read A76. Eric Baldwin in the big blind had called and had Hellmuth at risk.

Eric Baldwin: 76
Phil Hellmuth: 98

Hellmuth was behind the two pair of Balwin but had a monster draw for insurance. The turn and river came the 4 and 10 respectively; Hellmuth rivered a straight to find the full double up.

Arani Scores Knockout

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Mohammad Arani opened to 9,000 from middle position before a player in the big blind moved all in for their last 69,000. After asking for a count, Arani made the call with the covering stack to put his opponent at risk.

Big Blind Player: Q10
Mohammad Arani: 77

It was a coinflip but one that Arani looked set to win after the flop came 2A7. The 3 turn did give the at risk player a flush draw but it did not come in on the Q river to hand Arani the pot and knockout.

Aido Spikes The River to Double Through Delaney

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Jun Obara raised to 8,000 first-to-act and was called directly behind by Brian Delaney. Action folded to Sergio Aido in the small blind, who shoved for his last 119,000. Obara folded, but Delaney called to put Aido at risk.

Sergio Aido: A9
Brian Delaney: KQ

The 10K9 flop put Delaney in the lead with a pair of kings. The 5 turn changed nothing, but the A river gave Delaney a winning two pair for the double up.

Schwecht Continues to Climb

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Tobias Schwecht
Tobias Schwecht

Picking up the action on the river, Tobias Schwecht in the small blind was involved in a hand with a player on the button. With the board reading 58JK3 and a sizable pot already in the middle, Schwecht bet out a hefty 77,000. His opponent only thought for a moment before making the call with AA but it was not good as Schwecht held J8 for two pair to take down the pot and send his stack sailing further up the chip counts.
