Nguyen Gets the Maximum

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

The pot stood at 48,000 with two players looking at a board that read 39Q2.

Pham Nguyen bet out from the big blind for 25,000. Justin Saliba on the button made the call.

Palma Doubles Up

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Nick Palma moved all in for his last 27,000 from under the gun and was called by Rainer Kempe one seat over.

Nick Palma: 109
Rainer Kempe: 88

"Classic flip" joked Palma as the cards were turned on their back. The 429 flop vaulted Palma into the lead as Kempe was left looking to make a set to score the knockout. The Q turn changed nothing with the 2 river completing the board to hand Palma a small double.

Wisbrod Wins Without a Showdown

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

In a blind versus blind battle, the pot stood at 39,000 as the board read QQQ3. Yulian Bogdanov checked from the small blind. Barak Wisbrod in the big blind bet out for 26,000 and Bogdanov called.

The A on the river saw Bogdanov check again. Wisbrod thought for some time before electing to move all in, putting Bogdanov to the test for his effective stack of approximately 100,000. Bogdanov eventually folded and Wisbrod won this pot without a showdown.

Reard Building Early

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Alexandre Reard was heads-up from the hijack against Hwany Lee in the big blind on a 5104 flop. Lee check-called a 10,000 bet from Reard and both players checked on the Q turn.

The 5 filled the river and Lee checked again — prompting a 24,000 bet from Reard. Lee let his hand go and Reard dragged the pot.

Reard, who won his first bracelet back in 2021 in a $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em event, has built his stack substantially in the first two levels and currently sits with over half a million in chips.

Arani spent some time toying with both his cards and calling chips before finally deciding to fold.

"Smart guy!" Matusow announced "There's a smart guy right there" he continued while pointing at Arani. Matusow raked in the pot as he showed AA to the table.

Picking up the action on the river, Jesse Lonis from under the gun was involved in a hand with Nikita Kuznetcov in the big blind. With the board reading KAQ29 Kuznetcov checked and Lonis moved all in. After some thought Kuznetcov made the call holding KJ but that came up short against Lonis' set with QQ to hand the latter player a full double.
