Tomko Scoops a Big One

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Three ways on a completed board of 53Q104 with about 30,000 already in the middle, the player under the gun checked to Duane "Dewey" Tomko in the hijack, who bet 6,000. Both of his opponents folded and Tomko collected the sizable pot.

The three-time bracelet winner is up early with 76,000 and will be looking for his first WSOP cash since 2010.

Trevino Takes Down Three-Bet Pot

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Virgile Latifou raised 1,000 in middle position and Cedrric Trevino three-bet 4,000 in the big blind. Latifou called.

The flop came 883 and Trevino continued for 2,500. Latifou tossed in a call.

When the 7 hit the turn, Trevino fired again, this time for 5,400 and that was enough for Latifou to surrender the pot.

Richardson Blows Them Off on the River

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Gary Horn raised to 1,000 in the hijack and was called by Colby Covington in the cutoff and Daemon Richardson in the big blind. The flop came 1062 and Horn continued with a bet of 2,500 which both Covington and Richardson called.

The K landed on the turn which slowed the action as all three players checked to the 7 on the river. Richardson led out with a bet of 10,200 which prompted Horn and Covington to ditch their cards to the muck.

Eolis Chips Back Up

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Four players had created a pot of 7,000 going to the flop of 8J6. Gerard Reinhart, John Hennigan, Asher Harel, and Wendeen Eolis all checked the flop before Eolis was the one to fire a 4,000 bet on the A turn once it again checked to her on the button.

Gerard Reinhart was the only one to make the call from under the gun, while Hennigan and Harel folded. The river was the 8 and Eolis fired another 10,000 into the pot after one more check from Reinhart. This caused the latter to take some thinking time, eventually resulting in a fold.

Eolis chipped back up but is still under starting stack in the third level of Day 1a

Friberg Continues to Stack Chips

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Erik Friberg raised to 1,100 from under the gun and was called by Preben Stokkan and Jake Schindler in position. Maximiliano Castagnini reraised to 5,000 on the button which Friberg and Schindler both called.

The flop fell K88 and the action checked to Castagnini who announced a bet of 4,300. Friberg called and Schindler stepped aside. The turn was the 5 and both players checked to the 10 on the river.

Friberg led out with a bet of 8,000 on the river and Castagnini mulled it over before rapidly tossing his cards into the muck. Friberg collected the pot and is now sitting on a stack of over 200,000.

Straight Flush For Rickard

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

It's a lucky day for Will Rickard so far, as he already hit a royal flush earlier.

This time, he was involved in a hand where two players limped in middle position, and Michael Petrecca raised to 2,200 on the button.

Rickard called in the small blind, and both players who limped folded, leaving Petrecca and Rickard alone on 10J5. Rickard bet 2,000, and Petrecca called.

On the turn 4, it was Petrecca's turn to bet 1,500 after Rickard checked. But he didn't give up and called to see the 2 on the river.

This time, Rickard didn't bother with the sizing of his bet and moved all in for more than 80,000 chips. Covered, Petrecca folded. It was a very good fold, as Rickard showed A3 for a straight flush.

On the very next hand, Rickard hit a set with pocket kings and increased his stack to 120,000.

Angelina Rich

Angelina Rich opened 1,000 in the hijack and Alfie Adam defended his big blind.

The dealer fanned a flop of Q86 and Adam check-called a bet of 900.

The 7 fell on the turn and Adam checked to Rich who fired again, this time for 4,000. Adam didn't go anywhere as he tossed in a call.

The dealer dropped the K on the river and Adam checked for a final time before Rich announced a bet of 9,000. Adam pushed his cards forward as he said, "I almost got there."
