Mizrachi Checks Back a Nine

"You're definitely one of the top six players in the world," Robert Mizrachi said to Michael Martinelli as Martinelli raised in the cutoff. Mizrachi called on the button, as did big blind Ryutaro Suzuki.

All three players drew two and Martinelli bet. Mizrachi and Suzuki both called.

Suzuki took two, while Martinelli and Mizrachi drew one. Action checked to Mizrachi who bet as both Martinelli and Suzuki called.

Suzuki and Martinelli drew one and Mizrachi stood pat. All three players checked and Mizrachi showed a 9-8-6 to win the pot.

"I should've bet," Martinelli said.

"You should've. I would've folded," Mizrachi replied.

"You're running really good against me. I'm surprised I'm still in. You should take some lessons, read a book for letting me hang around," Martinelli added.

Robert Mizrachi completed with an ace up and David Bach called with a five. Bach then bet when he hit the lower card on fourth street, and did so too when checked to on fifth and sixth street.

Mizrachi called down until seventh street, where he led out. Bach made a quick call and showed 9♦7♥3♣ for a nine-low.

Mizrachi's aces were good for the high, and he was also awarded the low pot when he turned over 9♣5♣3♦ for a better nine-low, scooping the pot.

Lamb drew one, while Martinelli and Mizrachi drew two. Lamb bet, Martinelli raised, and Mizrachi folded. Lamb called and took one, while Martinelli stood pat.

Martinelli bet and the two players then exchanged raises until Lamb was all in. Both players patted and Lamb turned over 7-5-4-2-A. Martinelli mucked a 7-6 as Lamb took the pot to double up.

Bach took one, while Lamb and Mizrachi drew two. Bach then bet and both players called.

Bach took one more, Lamb drew two, and Mizrachi also took two. Bach bet again and only Lamb called this time.

Bach patted and Lamb took one as the final draw was checked down. Bach showed 7-4-3-2-A and Lamb mucked.

Mizrachi then led out and was called by Martinelli. Mizrachi drew just one card on the second draw while Martinelli needed two.

Another bet from Mizrachi and call from Martinelli followed before Mizrachi stood pat on the final draw. Martinelli drew one and both players checked their hands to showdown.

Mizrachi announced a nine-low but Martinelli tabled 8x7x6x3xAx for an eight-low to take down the pot.

"Wow, I'm finally ahead. I don't have to come from behind," Martinelli said as Suzuki and Bach drew three, while he took two. Martinelli then bet and Bach called, but Suzuki raised.

Martinelli called and Bach folded. Suzuki stood pat and bet, and Martinelli called after taking two. Suzuki again patted the final draw and bet.

Martinelli took one and called. Suzuki then showed 7♥6♥5♦3♠2♣ for a six-Badugi and 7-6 and Martinelli mucked.

Richard Bai limped in from the small blind and Michael Martinelli checked in the big blind. Bai then check-called the 50,000-chip bet Martinelli put out on the 6♣9♥2♣ flop before the 9♠ turn was checked through.

The 6♠ river double-paired the board and saw Bai lead out for 25,000 chips. An instant call followed from Martinelli, after which Bai tabled A♦2♠ for an ace kicker.

Martinelli showed his K♦2♥ for a lesser king-high and saw the pot being shipped to his opponent.
