Did Scott Seiver Just Punch His Ticket to the Poker Hall of Fame?

Scott Seiver won his fifth World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet and in doing so may have secured his place in the Poker Hall of Fame when he becomes eligible next year.

Seiver, a longtime pro from New York who poker fans may remember from his appearance on the Big Game in the early 2010s, took down Event #10: $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship (8-Handed) for $426,744 after an intense and grueling final table battle that eventually saw him denying Jonathan Cohen a second bracelet.

Seiver turns 40 next April and thus will be eligible for the Poker Hall of Fame, a club home to other five-plus bracelet winners like Phil Hellmuth, Doyle Brunson, Johnny Chan, Erik Seidel and Phil Hellmuth.

Not only is the Hall of Fame already on Seiver's mind, it's the 39-year-old's primary motivator.

David Bach limped in from under the gun before Ben Lamb potted to 72,000 in the cutoff. Bach called and the flop came 8♣Q♠3♠.

Lamb then bet 85,000 and Bach called. Both players checked the 8♥ turn.

The river was the 6♦ and Bach potted to 355,000. Lamb called and Bach showed A♦8♦6♠2♦ for a full house and the nut low. Lamb also showed ace-deuce as Bach took three-quarters of a pot that lasted nearly 10 minutes into the break.

Ben Lamb limped in from the small blind and Richard Bai checked his option in the big blind. The 2♥J♠10♥ flop was checked through before Lamb bet 40,000 on the A♣ turn.

Bai made the call and made a bet of 80,000 once checked to on the K♠ river. Lamb mulled it over for a minute or so, but ultimate tossed in a call.

Bai could only show K♥7♠5♥3♥ for a pair of kings, while Lamb tabled K♦10♣8♦6♦ for two pair.

Robert Mizrachi raised in the cutoff and was three-bet by Ryutaro Suzuki in the small blind. Mizrachi called before both players drew two cards on the first draw.

Suzuki continued with a bet, which Mizrachi called. They then both drew one card and checked thereafter. On the final draw, they each took one again and checked it down.

Suzuki tabled Kx7x5x4x2x for a king-low and Mizrachi forfeited his cards to the muck.

The next hand, Suzuki opened from the button before Ben Lamb three-bet from the small blind. Richard Bai called cold in the big blind and Suzuki came along as well.

Lamb drew one, Bai drew two, and Suzuki drew one card on the first draw. Lamb checked to Bai, who made a bet. Suzuki and Lamb both called and drew one, with Bai standing pat in between.

Bai bet again after the second draw, which Suzuki called. Lamb tossed his cards in the muck , after which both Bai and Suzuki stood pat.

They then checked to showdown, where Bai announced a nine-low. Suzuki tabled 8x7x6x4x3x for the better hand and a second consecutive pot was awarded to him.

He decided to bet out, after which Lamb called. Another bet and call followed on seventh street and Bach tabled 6♠4♠4♥ for trip fours.

Lamb took the low with his 7♠5♣4♦ in the hole and the pot was chopped up accordingly.
