Aldemir Wrestles Big Pot From Big Stack

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

There were five players in a hand on a flop that showed 826. From the button, Koray Aldemir bet 3,600. The small blind called, one of the biggest stacks in the field Henry Lu called in the big blind while JC Tran folded middle position and the cutoff also departed from the hand.

The three players saw the J come on the turn. Lu led for 9,000. Aldemir raised it up to 28,000 which got the small blind to fold immediately. Lu thought for close to two minutes before he called the raise.

The 4 came on the river to bring three to a flush on board. Lu instantly piled all in. Aldemir gave a resigned looking smile before calling within a few seconds and tabled his cards.

Koray Aldemir: 88 All in
Henry Lu: Cards not shown

Lu mucked when he saw the flopped set as he lost his chip lead to Aldemir who stacked up a large pile thanks to the big hand.

Tran Wins Skirmish

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

JC Tran was a late Day 1 arrival and found himself as a short stack in the field.

The two-time WSOP bracklet winner, however, found a spot to add chips when he raised 2,000 in early position. Action folded to the two players in the small and big blinds call, and they both called.

The dealer placed 107K on the board, and the players in the blinds checked. Tran then made a 2,500 bet, which saw the small blind call and the big blind fold.

The A appeared on the turn, which saw the player in the small blind once again check. Tran used the opportunity to bet 5,000, which forced out his opponent.

Chip Counts From the Other Side of the Stantions

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Rampage Bombs River

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Action was picked up on a flop of 462 when Ethan "Rampage" Yau bet from the button and was called by both the big blind and a late position player.

The turn K saw the big blind check and late position player lead for 5,500. Yau quickly called and the big blind folded.

The river fell K and the late position player slowed down by checking. Yau went deep into the tank before assembling a massive wager of 50,000, covering his opponent's remaining chip stack. After careful consideration, late position laid down his cards.

Deeb Slain by Saeed

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Action came in on the turn as the board read 97JQ. Shaun Deeb moved all in for about 22,000 and was instantly called by Omar Saeed.

Shaun Deeb: 97 All in
Omar Saeed: K10

Deeb started to roll up his cards as he saw the bad news that Saeed had made the straight to better his two pair. The river would not fill him up as the 2 came off to bust Deeb as he stood up to leave.

Jain Powers Up On River

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Chander Jain probably wasn’t expecting a lot of action when he raised 2,700 in early position.

But that’s exactly what he got when he received calls from three players, including Blair Hinkle to his immediate left and Jonathan Little in the small blind.

The dealer fanned 5109 on the flop, and the checking began with Little, followed by a player in the big blind, Jain and Hinkle.

The J appeared on the turn, prompting Little and the player in the big blind to check. When it was his turn to act, Jain took his time and looked at the board. He then reached into his stack to count out 7,500 before placing it as his bet, which saw folds from Hinkle and Little. The player in the big blind, though, called.

The dealer then placed 2 on the river, which the player in the big blind checked. Jain once again was deliberate with his action, looking down at his stack before counting out a little more than 20,000. He then moved the chips forward as his bet, and his remaining opponent immediately folded.

“Nuts!” Jain exclaimed as he attempted to table his hand face up.

The K showed, but the other card remained down.

“It was a queen; you saw it,” Jain said to Hinkle, who nodded.

With KQx, Jain had the nut straight.

The turn came the 3 and both players checked to the 8 river which was also checked down.

Lagodich watched as his opponent tabled the Jx5x for a pair of fives but Lagodich had that pipped with the 76 pair of sixes.
