The early position player limped, cutoff Jay Orta called, and the button came along for the ride. The small blind player had other ideas and raised to 1,500. The early position player made the call, but Orta decided to move all of his chips in for 10,900. The button and the small blind both folded and the early position player tanked for a short time and made the call, gasping when he saw Orta's hand.

Johnson started the hand with around 18,500 so he needed a lot of help from the dealer if he was to remain in the tournament. He found that help on the 7♦9♥4♥ flop. His set of sevens held up as the rest of the board ran out 4♣ 6♦. Johnston dragged in the pot at the expense of the player in the big blind.
