On a flop of 4♣6♠8♥, Ian Matakis checked to Darius Samual, who bet 5,000 on the button. Matakis then check-raised to 21,000 and Samual called.

Samual called a 16,000 bet from Matakis after the 5♠ brought a four-liner on board and then both players checked down on the 6♥ river.

Matakis showed 5♣2♣ for sixes and fives and Samual tabled 10♠10♦ for a better two pair to take down the pot.

Martirosian Fills Up on Chidwick; Other Match-Ups

Artur Martirosian raised to 4,000 from the button and Stephen Chidwick called from the big blind.

Chidwick check-called bets of 2,000 and 12,000 on the flop and turn for the final board to read K♣3♠9♣8♣3♥.

Chidwick, with around 29,000 behind, checked for a third time. Martirosian put his opponent to the test and put Chidwick all-in. After using up a time bank, Chidwick put in the last of his chips.

Martirosian tabled K♦3♣ for a threes full of kings, and bested Chidwick's K♥5♥.

On a board of 4♠A♦8♦6♦, Matthew Wantman check-called a 16,000 bet from Eshaan Bhalla.

The 3♥ completed the board and Wantman checked once more. Eshaan fired 65,000 into the middle and Wantman called.

Eshaan showed 4♥6♥ for two pair, but it was no good against the 8♥8♠ of Wantman for a set of eights and he collected the pot.

Stephen Chidwick open-jammed on the button for Jeremy Ausmus' remaining 70,000 chips. Ausmus then made the call to put his tournament life at risk.

The flop ran out 5♣Q♦Q♠, and although the turn 2♦ gave Ausmus a flush draw, his outs were no good, as Chidwick had the diamonds dominated. So, with just six outs once, the 7♠ sealed Ausmus' fate, and he was eliminated from the tournament, as Chidwick's jack-high was good.

Chidwick will go on to play Artur Martiosian in Round 2 later today.
