Ferreira Halts Jang's Comeback

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Hyunsick Jang went for a ride on the ole poker rollercoaster.

Jang first moved all in for 335,000 from middle position, with action folding to Jeffrey Yanchek in the big blind. Yankchek called off his stack of 275,000 and the cards went on their backs.

Jang had 77 and was flipping against AK. The J84KK runout gave Yanchek trips for the double up.

A few hands later, Jang put in his last 60,000 from under the gun. The table got out of the way before Rui Ferreira called from the big blind as the bigger stack.

Jang's Q5 bested Ferreira's 102 after the board ran out with the 97357.

On the next deal, Zhiyuan Xu opened to 50,000 from the button, with Ferreira calling from the small blind. Jang moved all in once again, looking to continue his spin up. Xu folded but Ferreira called to reclaim his recently lost chips.

Hyunsick Jang: A4All in
Rui Ferreira: 55

Ferreira's pocket pair remained best and Jang headed out of the tournament area following the Q26KJ.

Guay Eliminates "Texas Mike" in Monster Pot

Level 20 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Michael Moncek
Michael Moncek

Michael Moncek—better known under his moniker "Texas Mike" and frequently seen in the highest cash games—was one of the top stacks in this tournament. The emphasis here is on 'was,' as suddenly, Moncek was seen making his way to the payout desk with David Guay stacking up more than 3 million in chips.

According to Guay, Moncek had opened two seats to his right and Sebastion Toro, seated between them, put in a three-bet. Guay picked up pocket queens and put in a cold four-bet, which brought the action back on Moncek.

"Texas Mike" five-bet shoved all in for around 1,500,000, and Guay called. Moncek had pocket eights and didn't find help against the queens.
