2024 World Series of Poker
Israel Colangelo jammed on a flop of 10♥6♠2♠ for about 30,000. Adam Agaev only had about 10 big blinds left and he went into the blender, seemingly in two minds of what to do.
Eventually he opted to fold and preserve his small stack.
With two players seeing a board of J♠4♥Q♣10♥ and about 6,500 in the middle Joshua Schoen checked from middle position and Joao Simao bet 2,500 from the cutoff. Schoen made the call.
On the 3♠ river both players checked. Simao announced that he had king-jack but Schoen turned over A♦J♥ for a better second pair to take the pot.
On a board of A♥8♠4♥6♠8♣ there were over 30,000 chips in the pot when Aleksei Smirnov bet 22,000 on the river, and Alec Torelli shoved for around 70,000. Smirnov had a little over 30,000 remaining in his stack and was deep in the tank while he decided if he wanted to put himself at risk. After thinking for some time, the clock was called on Smirnov and he eventually folded.
Richard Ochs found himself as one of his table’s shorter stacks and he elected to move all in out of early position with his remaining 3,800.
A player to his right called to put Ochs at risk.
Richard Ochs: Q♣10♥
Opponent: K♠5♠
The dealer fanned 10♠K♣6♥ on the flop, giving Ochs a pair of tens and his opponent top pair.
The 9♥ appeared on the turn, giving Ochs a gutshot straight possibility. Ochs completed the straight when J♠ arrived on the rive to give him the winning hand and much-needed chips.
Aleksandr Gofman opened from the button and faced Jimmy Guerrero, who defended from the big blind.
Gofman continued for 1,200 on 4♠3♥A♠. Guerrero check-called, then bet 2,000 on the 5♣ turn. Gofman called.
Guerrero fired a second barrel of 6,300 on the Q♠ river, but Gofman raised to 20,000. Guerrero went into the tank and eventually folded.
Picking up the action on the river, Michael Trivett on the button was involved in a hand with a player in early position.
With the board reading A♣4♠7♠2♦J♣ the early position player bet 13,000. Trivett responded with a raise to 35,000, representing roughly half of his opponent's stack. After considerable thought, the early position player sigh called holding A♠J♠ as he seemed prepared to lose the pot. That was, in fact, the outcome with Trivett tabling A♦A♥ for a set of aces.
