On the turn, the board read 6KQ8. In middle position, Joseph Medaris was facing an all in cutoff shove from George Holmes for 27,000 into a pot of about 13,500.

Medaris thought for several moments before he folded and Holmes gathered some needed chips.

Reinstein Doubles Through Ta

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Jared Reinstein moved all in from under the gun for his last 8,800. David Ta reraised all in for 18,100 on the button and the blinds got out of the way.

Two short stacks with real hands, the board ran out 57398 and Reinstein kept his tournament run alive.

Another year, another record with the 2024 WSOP Main Event having surpassed last year's figure of 10,043.

The official figure is as yet unconfirmed, but the WSOP has announced that the record was broken shortly after 3 p.m. local time midway through the second level of Day 1d.

The prize pool is also yet to be announced, but it's widely expected to be a figure similar to the $12,100,000 that Daniel Weinman won twelve months ago.

Late registration remains open until approximately 5:10 p.m. ET. The WSOP is reminding players who wish to max late register the Main Event that they need to be registered and IN LINE at the Late Registration desk by the start of Level 8.

Deevara Flops Top Set and Doubles

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Rahul Deevara opened the action with a raise to 2,500 in the cutoff. Mark Tarich defended his big blind.

Deevara continued for 3,000 on a 432 before Tarich raised to 8,200. Deevara moved all in for his last 21,300 and Tarich made the call.

The turn K and river J completed the double up for Deevara as he inches closer back to starting stack.

Yan Gets Aggressive

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

The flop read 345. James Pogson bet 6,000 from the big blind, Yingge Yan raised to 22,000 from middle position and Pogson came along.

The turn was the 6. Yan continued for 35,000, which was enough to get a fold from Pogson.

Marshall Overtakes Becker on the River

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

With around 15,000 in the pot on a board of 3372, Johannes Becker bet 11,000 from early position and David Marshall called in the cutoff.

The river was the A and Becker bet another 9,500. Marshall gave it some thought before flicking in the chips to call. Becker then showed QQ, but Marshall had A9 for a rivered two pair to win the pot.

Kostadinov Doubles Up

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Action folded to Kostadin Kostadinov who raised to 2,500, before Derek Crooks three-bet to 10,000 in the small blind. After the big blind folded, Crooks made the call to put Crooks at risk.

Crooks was ahead with his pocket jacks, but after the board ran out KQKQ8 to improve Kostadinov to a full house and secure the double up.
