Wade Finds the Dream Turn Card to Double Up

Nikolaos Angelou opened the action with a raise to 2,500 from the cutoff. Matthew Wade three-bet to 8,200 from the small blind and Angelou made the call.

Wade continued for 6,200 on 3♣3♠5♥ and Angelou called.

The turn Q♣ rolled off and Wade bet again, this time for 8,500. Angelou called again.

Wade moved all in on the 3♥ river and Angelou immediately called. Wade tabled Q♥Q♠ and it was good. Angelou revealed A♣A♦ and was left with crumbs.

Gibson Sets a Trap

A player waved over PokerNews to his table.

“Looking for a story?” the player asked, and then pointed to Toby Gibson in Seat 9.

Gibson chuckled and pulled out his phone to show a photo of a hand, which rewarded him with a full double up.

Gibson explained he raised preflop with 10♦8♣ and the photo showed a runout of 8♠10♥9♠10♠4♦, giving Gibson a full house of tens full of eights.

Gibson said the fireworks happened on the river after he checked. He said his opponent then moved all in for a little more than 200,000, which covered Gibson’s chip stack. But it was an easy call for Gibson and his full house.

So, what did his opponent have?

Gibson reached down to his phone and enlarged the photo to show 3♥2♥ tabled on the other side of the dealer.

“I caught a player trying to bluff,” Gibson said with a grin.

Eric Eng raised to 2,500 on the button and in the big blind, Noah Andrew three-bet to 11,500 which only Eng called.

The flop rolled out A♠9♣8♣ and Andrew check-called a bet of 8,000 from Eng.

Action checked through on the turn 5♦ to the K♥ river where Andrew bet 4,100. Eng raised to 33,000 on the button which prompted Andrew to move all in for 90,300 and Eng called after some thought.

Eric Eng: A♥K♦

Andrew's top set was good against Eng's top two and Andrew's chip count shot up the leaderboard.

Adrian Salter raised to 3,300 from early position and was called by Mateusz Moolhuizen in the cutoff.

The flop came 7♥K♠6♠ and Salter bet out 5,500, and Moolhuizen made the call.

After the 10♣ on the turn, Salter bet 11,000 and Moolhuizen once again called.

The river was the J♠ and Salter bet 20,000. Moolhuizen took his time before announcing all in for Salter's last 21,400. Salter double checked his cards and shook his head as he tossed his cards into the muck, giving Moolhuizen the pot.

Heads-up on a board of 7♣6♦5♥10♥, Brandon Cantu bet 8,500 from the button and Gregory Milliron called in early position.

The river was the 2♥ and Cantu bet another 14,000. Milliron quickly called, then mucked when Cantu showed 6♥6♠ for a set of sixes.

Action was on the river in a three-way pot that had 30,000 in it. It read J♥8♣4♥J♣5♦. From the hijack, big stack Catalin Pop dialed up the pressure cooker on his two shorter stacked opponents as he bet 75,000 which covered both players.

The first decision was on Ignacio Costa in the small blind who had about 55,000 behind, he went long into the tank and put his head in his hands multiple times while sighing. Eventually after 3 minutes he folded.

Then it was Preston McEwen's turn to stew from early position. He had about 35,500 behind and took around two minutes himself before he spiked in the call.

Pop turned over the J♠10♠ for trip jacks. McEwen got up in a hurry in visible frustration as his 9x9x hand was turned over and he fled out of the room with his main event over.

Meanwhile, Cuesta reacted in relief when he saw Pop's hand, indicating he had made the correct fold to preserve his tournament life.

Rickey Mccray opened the action with a raise to 2,500 from under the gun. Matthew Evans three-bet to 10,000 from middle position which brought along Victor Kait from the big blind. Mccray let his cards go.

Evans continued for 10,500 on 6♣4♣2♥ and Kait called.

Players checked the 8♠ turn and 6♠ river. Kait flipped over J♥J♣ for the winner.
