Hundreds of late entrants have already shown up for Day 2d as the field continues to creep up to 10,000 players.
Arun Sriram opened the action with a raise to 2,000 from early position. Maxence Carbonneaux three-bet to 7,000 from the small blind and Sriram called.
Carbonneaux checked the 8♥K♣2♠ flop over to Sriram who bet 5,000. Carbonneaux called.
The turn Q♥ rolled off and action went check-check.
The river 4♣ came down and Carbonneaux sized-up big to 33,000. Sriram gave it a thought, paid it off, and saw he was chopping with his opponent. Carbonneaux had A♦K♦ and Sriram had A♥K♥.
Action was on the river with the board reading J♥5♠Q♦9♣J♣. Nikolai Mamut bet 16,600 into a pot of roughly the same amount from the button. John Adderley was in the big blind and jammed all in to put Mamut to the test for his whole stack.
Mamut took several moments before he called.
Adderley tabled the J♦9♥ boat. Mamut got up and tossed over his beaten 10♦8♥ and hastily left the ballroom.
Aram Zobian raised the button and Patrick Liang called in the big blind. On the 10♥6♣3♥ flop, Liang check-called for 3,400 and did so again for 10,000 on the 7♣ turn.
The A♥ fell on the river and Liang checked again. Zobian bet 19,500 and Liang called for Zobian to declare a straight.
"Flush," Liang replied and tabled the 6♥2♥ to win the pot.
Robert Cowen was seen getting up from his table as he had been eliminated early on Day 2.
His Ax10x had gone up in flames against the AxKx of Bradley Howard as a king hit the flop to effectively end things for Cowen right then.
Yoon Choi was already all in on the button for his remaining stack against Michael Whitton, who was in the cutoff, on a completed board of J♦J♥9♣Q♥K♠.
Whitton turned over J♠J♣ for quads and Choi tabled Q♦Q♠ for a turned full house, which got a collective, "Wow," from his tablemates as the pot was sent Whitton's way.
Action was picked up in a pot where Stanley Lee defended his big blind versus an under the gun open from Hedi Boussetta.
The flop read 10♣10♠7♠ and Lee checked over to Boussetta who bet 1,000. Lee raised to 3,000 and Boussetta wasted little time in calling.
On the turn 3♠, Lee sized up to 5,400 which saw Boussetta quickly release his hand into the muck.
David Whitehouce was in the small blind and had a raise of 6,000 in front of him before Rafael Reis reraised to 14,000 in the cutoff. Whitehouce then moved all in and Reis snap-called for 50,700.
Rafael Reis: A♥A♣
David Whitehouce: K♥K♠
Whitehouce barely had Harel covered and didn't catch any miracles on the J♦5♣7♦7♥3♦ as Reis doubled up, dropping Whitehouce to a short stack early on Day 2.
Tracey Rudd from early position to 1,700, before Landon Tice in middle position three-bet to 5,000. After it folded back to Rudd, she made the call.
The flop came 4♦A♠3♠ and Rudd check-called the bet of 3,000 from Tice.
Both players checked the Q♦ turn and J♥ river.
Rudd showed down 10x10x but Tice had the winner with A♦9♦ for top pair.
