In a heads-up pot on a board of J♦7♠8♦10♠, Alejandro Peinado checked and Frank Lagodich bet 120,000. Peinado called.
The river brought the 7♣ and Peinado led out for 500,000. Lagodich went deep in the tank and Peinado eventually called the clock, leading Lagodich to call.
Peinado showed 10♣7♦ for a full house and Lagodich slid his cards to the muck.
Michael Moncek and Alejandro Peinado ended up with all their chips in the middle after some huge preflop action. Peinado had opened to 160,000 in the cutoff, before seeing a three-bet to 490,000 from Moncek. Peinado didn't ponder for too long, before shoving for 3,300,000, putting Moncek deep into the tank. After two whole minutes he said, almost to himself, "I'm probably ahead", and "nit roll, nit roll". The length of his tank gave Joe Cada time to get up and stretch, and after another twominutes he put in a big stack of chips, indicating a call.
Alejandro Peinado: A♠K♣
Michael Moncek: J♠J♣
Peinado took the lead on the K♠Q♠Q♦ flop, and secured the victory on the K♦ turn, however waited until the 2♠ river before shouting 'Vamos!" gleefully. Cada commented on the delayed celebration, saying "I like how you wait till the river to celebrate even though you had it on the turn". Peinado didn't respond, and raked in enough chips to give him the most on the table.
Taylor Paur moved all in from under the gun. Frank Lagodich rejammed from the cutoff. No one else wanted to play, and the two players revealed their hands.
Taylor Paur: A♠10♦
Frank Lagodich: Q♥6♦
The runout was a disappointing Q♥8♣5♥5♠8♠ for Paur, and he finished the tournament in 12th place.
Yosef Fox and Taylor Paur contested a huge cooler with just 14 players remaining in the mystery bounty, as they ended up all in preflop, to which Fox said, "Now I gotta win another flip!"
Taylor Paur: A♣K♥
Yosef Fox: J♠J♥
Fox started celebrating his flopped set on the J♦8♣2♣ flop, announcing "I've done it again". When the Q♥ turn eliminated any possibility of Paur hitting his backdoor flush draw, he celebrated some more, and was ecstatic about winning yet another bounty on the 10♦ river. However, he heard groans around the table that could only mean one thing, and finally realised that Paur had coolered him with runner runner Broadway to both survive, and deprive Fox of a shot at the $250,000 bounty, which is still yet to be claimed.
Chao Duan opened to 170,000 from early position. Christian Roberts moved all in for his last 245,000 from middle position. Mihai Manole called from the big blind, and Duan called as well.
The flop came 10♦9♠5♠, with Roberts at risk and action on the side between Manole and Duan. Manole checked and Duan moved all in. Manole folded and we were down to heads up.
Christian Roberts: K♦9♦
Chao Duan: A♣10♥
The 5♥ and 3♠ on the turn and river respectively were no help to Roberts and he finished the tournament in 14th place.
Action folded round to Patrick Kennedy in the cutoff, who raised to 120,000. Christian Roberts then shoved his remaining 795,000 chips into the middle. Both the blinds got out of the way before Kennedy announced "call"
Christian Roberts: A♥10♥
Patrick Kennedy A♦K♣
"Well, you've got hearts," said Kennedy, and then announced "or you've got tens!" when the 10♣4♠7♣ flop shot Roberts into the lead. The 5♥ turn and 5♣ river secured Roberts a much-needed double up.
