Smith raised from under the gun to 40,000. The action folded around to Connor Lee in the big blind, who came along with a call.

The flop of 10♦6♠8♦ and 3♦ turn led to two rounds of checks from Lee and Smith.

Lee slid out 35,000 on the K♦ river but was met with a raise to 120,000 by Smith.

Lee gave it some thought before relinquishing his hand.

The University of Texas alum who is not actually from the Longhorn State — he's from Chicago — made an aggressive move on the soft bubble of a $25,000 buy-in tournament at the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP) against one of the top tournament players in the world — Stephen Chidwick.
