Simonsen Tanks and Makes a Huge Call

Level 36 : Blinds 400,000/800,000, 800,000 ante

The board read 1095K with around 4,500,000 in the middle.

Brandon Simonsen had bet 3,200,000 from under the gun, and Mark Tornai raised it up to 8,400,000 from the button. Simonsen took some time before making the call.

The river completed the board with the 2. Simonsen checked for the final time before Tornai pushed all his chips over the line. The dealer confirmed that Tornai had 9,700,000 left, and Simonsen jumped into the tank.

"Wish I had played with you more," Simonsen commented but was met with no response by Tornai. After a few more minutes, Simonsen apologized for the long tank to the rest of the table.

A few more minutes later, the clock was called. The floor came over and gave Simonsen 30 seconds to make a decision, he cut out calling chips and pushed them into the pot for the call.

Tornai tabled the 44 for Simonsen to flip over his 55 for the set of fives to show he had made the right call.
