Joao Vieira got his remaining chips in the middle against Daniel Ezekiel on a flop of Q♥6♠5♦. Vieira had flopped middle set and the nut low draw but soon saw he was in rough shape for the high.
Joao Vieira: A♦2♦6♦6♣
Daniel Ezekiel: A♠Q♦Q♣J♠7♦
Ezekiel's top set was even safer when the 5♣ paired the board and the 9♥ was just one pip too high to improve Vieira to the low.
Vieira was seen entering the fray again shortly after being felted.
Gus Hansen, best known for the aggressive style he pioneered in No-Limit Hold'em in the early-to-mid 2000's has turned to a new chapter in his poker career. As of late, he's shifted his focus to Omaha and mixed games. He has made it clear that most of his schedule will revolve around the $10,000 Championship events but isn't limited to them.
Hansen was seen sitting down with a fresh stack in Event #27: $1,500 Big O and will be looking to add to his legacy, chasing bracelets in a variety of poker variants.
Whenever Hansen makes the pilgrimage to Las Vegas for the World Series of Poker, he makes sure to let the people know, "It's going to be a great summer."
Tyler Brown burst onto the scene in 2023 when he won his first bracelet in Event #3: 1,000 Mystery Millions for, you guessed it, a cool million on top of his bounty prizes. Despite this, when the event rolled around the next year, he had no interest in defending his title and chose to play the higher buy-in Pot-Limit Omaha events instead.
Since then, he has received the nod from his peers as a top notch Omaha player, despite his biggest score being in No-Limit Hold'em.
Seated on his right is mixed-game specialist, Alex Livingston who is known for calling PLO when playing Dealer's Choice so it's safe to say Omaha is on the list of Livingston's preferred games. Besides the fact that he won his second bracelet in Event #97: $3,000 Pot-Limit Omaha 6-Handed
in 2024.
David "ODB" Baker was moved seated two seats to Livingston's right. Baker is a three-time bracelet winner and all his hardware is in different variants.
Needless to say, their table is by no means the softest in the room.
Popular poker vlogger Brad Owen, is largely known for his No-Limit Hold'em cash game exploits. As his journey in poker continued he began to put more of an emphasis on tournaments but apparently he's less concerned about sifting through the massive No-Limit Hold'em fields and has taken a liking to the mixed games.
Earlier in the series he was spotted deep in Event #9: $10,000 Omaha Hi/Lo Eight or Better Championship and he's joined the fray in Event #27: $1,500 Big O.
Six months previous to this event, Owen won the third H.O.R.S.E. tournament he ever played which likely attributed to his newfound interest in other poker variants.
Uri Reichenstein likes to play a wide range of poker variants, though he didn't last too long in the Big O.
On a full board of 6♠A♥J♥4♣6♦, all of the chips were in the middle in a pot with Jiyang Gan. Reichenstein showed A♦6♣5♦5♠4♦ for a full house. Gan, however, showed A♣A♠2♥2♦2♠ for a bigger boat and the nut low to scoop the pot.
"Don't forget to bust me, dealer. So I can donate to someone else," were Reichenstein's final words as he left the table.
The good news for Reichenstein is that he wasn't the first person to be eliminated, that honor goes to Teresa Jasinski.
