Johansson Finishes Mao Off

Level 8 : Blinds 800/1,600, 2,400 ante

Ray Fishman opened to 3,400 from under the gun and was three-bet to 10,200 by James Obst in the hijack. Oscar Johansson called cold from the cutoff and Renji Mao shoved for his last 24,000 from the big blind. Fishman folded, but Obst and Johansson called.

Mao drew one, Obst stood pat, and Johansson drew one.

Mao revealed he drew to a pair of eights and Johansson tabled 9x7x5x4x2x. Obst mucked his hand and Johansson collected the large pot while Mao was sent to the rail.

Dan Shak led out for 10,000 from the small blind after the draw and Daniel Negreanu, still sipping on his wine glass, moved all in from under the gun. "You're not calling. Zero percent you call," Negreanu said, but Shak did put in his last 50,000.

Negreanu turned over 8x7x4x3x2x and Shak tossed 8x7x6x5x3x into the muck on his way to the rail.

"I'm playing great, now. Right, Rast?" Negreanu asked table neighbor Brian Rast as he raked in the pot.

Matusow Pats Himself to the Rail

Level 7 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,800 ante

Mike Matusow was already all in pre-draw from the cutoff for approximately 28,000 against Alex Livingston, who was in the small blind.

Livingston stood pat and Matusow tanked before eventually deciding to stand pat himself.

Livingston tabled 10x8x7x3x2x and Matusow hit the table in frustration.

"I knew it was close!" Matusow said before sending his hand into the muck.

At another table, Jean-Robert Bellande was eliminated.

Wilson Scoops a Three-Way All In; Theuma Shows the Benefits of the New WSOP App

Level 7 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,800 ante

Andrew Sellergren was all in for 20,000 from under the gun, Taylor Wilson reshoved for 33,200 in the hijack, and Christopher Vitch in the big blind put both players at risk.

Vitch stood pat while Sellergren and Wilson both took one. Vitch had 9x8x7x4x2x. Sellergren showed 6x5x3x2x but drew another 5x, while Wilson had 6x4x3x2x and caught a 9x on his last card to make a 9-6-4 and scoop the pot, earning a double up off Vitch while sending Sellergren to the rail.

Sellergren had just left his seat and Wilson was still raking in the pot when Corel Theuma showed up to take the vacated seat. "That has to be a world record. That's the pot," a flabbergasted Dan Zack said.

The next hand at this table, Darren Elias raised to 3,500 under the gun and Wilson called in middle position. Vitch then put in his last 30,000 in the small blind, Elias reraised to 75,000 and Wilson folded.

Both players stood pat and Elias showed 9x8x7x6x3x to best Vitch's 10x9x7x5x4x and score the knockout.

Level 7 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,800 ante

Four players went to the draw with around 10,000 in the pot when Patrick Leonard bet 30,000 from the hijack.

Action folded around to Bradley Jansen in the small blind who moved all in for 48,600. Leonard took a minute before calling.

"No. 3," Jansen announced, turning over 7x6x5x3x2x. Leonard flashed an 8-7 before mucking as Jansen doubled up.

"Luck Box" Sammartino Catches Good to Double Off Tang

Level 7 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,800 ante

Dario Sammartino raised to 3,500 under the gun and Matthew Schreiber called on the button. Danny Tang then shoved for 32,000 in the big blind, Sammartion put in his last 30,000, and Schreiber folded.

Tang stood pat while Sammartino took one. Tang showed 10x5x4x3x2x and Sammartino had 9x7x5x3x as he prepared to turn over his last card.

"Paint! Queen!" Tang shouted out, sweating the card with Sammartino. It wasn't a paint card but rather a three-sider.

"66 percent," Sammartino said.

"Seven of clubs!" Tang shouted, but Sammartino slammed down a 8x to make a 9-8-7 and earn the double up.

"Make sure you write that he's a luckbox," Tang said after the hand.

Daniel Negreanu had fired his third bullet and was waiting to take his seat, but first he went to open a bottle of wine. "Does anybody have a wine key?" Negreanu yelled out to the rest of the field.

Brian Breck just happened to be carrying one with him, and Negreanu successfully opened the bottle before taking his seat.
