Action folded to Aaron Kupin who raised to 25,000 in the small blind. Ian Steinman then moved all in from the big blind and Kupin called for 30,000.
Kupin drew one and turned over Jx8x5x2x, but he was already drawing dead as Steinman patted 8x7x5x4x2x. Kupin didn't even bother looking at his last card before getting up from his seat and heading for the rail.
Phil Hellmuth opened to 18,000 from under the gun and was three-bet to 60,000 by Chance Kornuth in the hijack. Action folded back to Hellmuth, who paused before announcing he was all in, which was enough to put Kornuth all in for his last 130,000.
Hellmuth stood pat and Kornuth went deep into the tank before saying, "I have no idea if I'm supposed to break this ten-seven or not."
Kornuth did eventually decide to draw one and hands were turned face up.
Chance Kornuth: 7x6x4x2x
Phil Hellmuth: 10x7x5x4x3x
Kornuth broke correctly, but ended up drawing a 10x back anyways to be eliminated.
Three-handed after the draw, Bariscan Betil bet 25,000 from middle position and Scott Seiver called in the cutoff. Wil Wilkinson then moved all in for 53,000 in the big blind.
Betil quickly folded, but Seiver took a few minutes and eventually called. Wilkinson turned over 7x6x5x4x2x and Seiver mucked as Wilkinson doubled up.
Oscar Johansson opened to 12,000 first to act and was called by Darren Elias in the hijack. Scott Seiver then squeezed to 60,000 from the big blind, which got a fold from Johansson and a call from Elias.
Seiver stood pat and Elias drew one.
Seiver announced a check and Elias thought a bit before placing a bet of 150,000 into the middle.
"I know I have a clear fold," Seiver said as he tanked. "Something doesn't feel right."
Eventually, Seiver did decide to lay his hand down and Elias collected the pot without showing.
Taylor Wilson raised to 12,000 in the cutoff and George Alexander three-bet to 38,000 on the button. Adam Owen then moved all in for 206,000 in the big blind.
Wilson folded, but Alexander spent several minutes agonizing over the decision before eventually calling. Owen stood pat with 9x8x7x4x3x, while Alexander drew one with 8x5x3x2x.
Alexander caught a Kx on his last card and Owen won the pot to secure the massive double up.
Bradley Jansen raised to 13,000 in the hijack and Aaron Sacks called in the cutoff. Taylor Wilson then three-bet to 82,000 in the small blind, Jansen got out of the way, while Sacks called off his last 38,000.
Wilson stood pat and showed 9x5x4x3x2x. Sacks drew one but only ended up with a 9-8 as he was sent to the rail.
George Alexander opened to 12,500 form middle position and was three-bet to 40,000 by Adam Owen in the cutoff. It was folded back to Alexander, who called.
Alexander drew one and Owen stood pat. Both players then checked and Alexander showed 9x6x5x3x2x.
Owen couldn't beat it and mucked his hand to send the pot Alexander's way.
Scott Seiver, Darren Elias, and Stephen Moreschi went three-handed to the draw where Seiver and Moreschi drew one and Elias took two. Seiver then led out for 7,000 from the small blind.
Elias called in the hijack, while Moreschi also called in the cutoff. "I can't win," Seiver said, instantly mucking his cards. Moreschi showed 9x8x7x6x3x and Elias also mucked.
"Why didn't one of you raise? It was my only way to win," Seiver added after the hand.
At another table, Daniel Negreanu and Alex Foxen were heads-up when Foxen bet 20,000 after the draw. Negreanu called.
"I win," Foxen said.
"No you don't," Negreanu replied, showing 9x7x6x5x4x. Foxen mucked a 9-8.
"Notice how I didn't put the chips in? It's because i was sure they were coming back," Negreanu added.
Jeremy Ausmus opened to 12,000 from under the gun and was called by Wil Wilkinson in the small blind. James Obst then shoved for 130,000 from the big blind, which got a call from Ausmus and a fold from Wilkinson.
Both players drew one and hands were revealed:
James Obst: 6x5x3x2x
Jeremy Ausmus: 8x6x3x2x
Ausmus paired his six while Obst drew to a ten, which was good for the double up.
