[Removed:548] Finishes the Job for First Bracelet in Event #37: $1,500 MONSTER STACK

Level 46 : Blinds 4,000,000/8,000,000, 8,000,000 ante

After four grueling days of action on the felt here at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas, only seven players returned for the fifth and final day of Event #37: $1,500 MONSTER STACK. When the dust settled, it was [Removed:548] of Austria who accomplished what all of his competitors set out to do - take home the seven-figure payday and the bracelet.

In what proved to be one of the most popular events at the 2025 World Series of Poker thus far, [Removed:549] navigated his way through an enormous field of 9,920 entries to capture the first-place prize of $1,204,457. He defeated David Uvaydov in a fierce, back-and-forth heads-up match to claim the bulk of the massive $13,168,800 prize pool.

After hitting the biggest score of his life and winning his maiden WSOP gold bracelet, [Removed:549] mentioned that it may take some time for the magnitude of the moment to really sink in.

"I cannot describe how good it feels after I've tried so long. It's a big dream come true, to be honest. It's such a massive field, hard to describe, I can't even grasp. I think it will need some days."

He continued, "As I said, it means everything. I mean I had some runs, but I had one other final table in the Bahamas. But I think it's my first final table actually in Vegas. It's unbelievable to scoop [this] one."

Being on the Right Side of Variance

Coming into the final day second in chips with a tough lineup to get through, [Removed:549]'s mindset and approach never wavered.

When asked about his game plan he said, "You know, how I approach every final table. I mean, try my best, try to prepare, do my best, and see how it goes. "[With] seven people left, there's still so much variance in the game. You need good cards. I had this hand against Dylan [Linde], aces versus kings, super lucky for me. If this hand doesn't happen, you know, it's just pure variance in the end. Absolutely the variance was on my side."

[Removed:549] described this as a key turning point for him at the final table - finding the dream spot against a well respected player to ascend to the top of the counts.

"Sorry Dylan, setup hand," [Removed:549] said as the two shook hands following Linde's elimination.

Heads-Up Battle and Comeback

[Removed:548] and David Uvaydov Heads-Up
[Removed:548] and David Uvaydov Heads-Up

The heads-up duel between [Removed:549] and Uvaydov turned out to be an emotional whirlwind for both players, with the lead changing hands multiple times in the back-and-forth match.

"To be honest, it started really bad in heads up. I think I went from almost even in chips [with] 210 million immediately to 60 million. But then I had a double up with ace-deuce against king-nine, and then like one or two hands later, queens against ace-deuce."

After being down to about ten big blinds and finding consecutive double-ups to nearly even out the stacks, [Removed:549] pinpointed this shift in momentum as the moment he thought he could win it.

"From then on I thought, yeah, I think I can do it now."

[Removed:549] went on to win a series of small to medium sized pots to chip away at Uvaydov and extend his lead until the final hand where [Removed:549] open-shoved on the button with jack-trey and the short-stacked Uvaydov made the call with king-deuce. [Removed:549] was fortunate enough to pair his trey on the flop, and the turn and river bricked out for him to win the tournament.

When asked if his heads up match in the first round of Event #20: $1,500 SHOOTOUT helped him here today, [Removed:549] commented "I think so, yeah, it helped a little bit. It was a four-hour heads-up match in the shootout. I think it was good to have good preparation."

As for his plans for the rest of the summer, [Removed:549] said "I'm gonna play the rest and try to catch more bracelets. That's it."

[Removed:548] opted to open-shove the button with his massive chip lead and David Uvaydov found a paint card to call all-in, finding himself ahead in the following preflop showdown.

David Uvaydov: K2 All in
[Removed:548]: J3

[Removed:549] was behind but jumped into the lead with the 1053 flop as he improved to a pair of treys. Nothing changed with the Q turn and the 2 river was too little too late for Uvaydov, who came up one spot shy of victory. His consolation is a heavy payday of $802,346 but [Removed:549] will be the one to pose for the winner shots shortly.

Stay tuned for a recap of today's action and the winner reaction of the newest WSOP champion from Austria.

[Removed:549] Takes the Lead

Level 45 : Blinds 3,000,000/6,000,000, 6,000,000 ante

[Removed:548] raised to 13,000,000 on the button with AK and David Uvaydov defended in the big blind with Q9.

The flop came J2Q and Uvaydov check-called [Removed:549]'s bet of 11,000,000.

On the 5 turn, Uvaydov checked again and [Removed:549] fired out a bet of 40,000,000. Uvaydov thought for a moment before making the call.

With a sizable pot building, the river landed the K, improving [Removed:549] to top pair. Uvaydov checked once more and [Removed:549] counted out a stack of chips before announcing, "I'm all in."

Uvaydov was clearly faced with a tough decision, and took some time to think before giving up his hand.

[Removed:548]: A2 All in
David Uvaydov: K9

Uvaydov's rail could be heard cheering for a king, which appeared on the AK3 flop, but [Removed:549] was still in the lead with his pair of aces.

The turn landed the 8, giving outs to a chop and the river brought the 5, earning [Removed:549] the double up.

David Uvaydov limped the button with Q3 and [Removed:548] checked in the big blind with 65.

The flop came A47 and both players checked to the 8 turn. [Removed:549] led out with an overbet of 25,000,000 with his straight and Uvaydov quickly folded.

The next hand, the duo saw a flop of 6105 in a limped pot. Uvaydov checked with 65 and [Removed:549] bet 5,000,000 with 98. Uvaydov bumped it up to 17,000,000 and [Removed:549] called.

The turn landed the A and Uvaydov continued with a bet of 25,000,000. [Removed:549] called and the river brought the 6.

Uvaydov moved all in with his full house and [Removed:549] quickly sent his cards into the muck.

Ashish Gupta Eliminated in 3rd Place ($604,277)

Ashish Gupta limped in from the small blind and David Uvaydov raised it up to 12,000,000. After brief consideration, Gupta pushed all-in for 86,000,000 and Uvaydov instantly called.

Ashish Gupta: QJ All in
David Uvaydov: AQ

The Aussie needed to come from behind again to avoid elimination like he had done very early into the final table already. However, this time there was no escaping on the KQ656 and that spelled the end for Gupta.

Having come into the final last in chips, the Pot-Limit Omaha and mixed game specialist laddered up all the way to third place for a payday of $604,277 - his far best cash in a live poker tournament. The tournament is now in heads-up and a short break follows before Uvaydov and [Removed:548] will battle for the WSOP gold bracelet.

David Uvaydov moved all in from the small blind to put Ivan Ruban at risk in the big blind. Ruban looked down at his cards and quickly called for just over 60,000,000.

Ivan Ruban: A9 All in
David Uvaydov: 33

Uvaydov's rail could be heard rooting for the 3 or 3 to appear and the flop of 6J3 brought just that.

Ruban was drawing dead and the board ran out K, 5 to end his impressive tournament run.

Daniel Lei
Daniel Lei

Daniel Lei and Ashish Gupta got preflop shoves through, the latter via open shove with QJ to narrowly pull ahead of Lei. Shortly thereafter, it folded to Lei in the small blind and he moved all-in for 47,500,000. Gupta glanced at his cards and called with the covering stack.

Daniel Lei: A10 All in
Ashish Gupta: 88

Gupta demanded to "squeeze the shit out of it, three side dot dot dot dot, all the combos you can get."

The classic flip went to Gupta on a board of 9958J when the Aussie turned an unbeatable full house to score the knockout, then immediately went to his rail to celebrate. Lei had started the final day as one of the larger stacks but nothing went his way, as he bowed out in fifth place for $349,562.

Ashish Gupta: K8

Gupta pulled ahead on the 839 flop, pairing his eight. Ruban took the lead on the A turn and the A river earned him the much needed double up.

The action folded to James Leonard on the button and he pushed all-in for 37,500,000 as the second-shortest stack. Ivan Ruban in the small blind had even fewer chips behind and glanced at the tournament info screen before folding the 65.

Chip leader [Removed:548] in the big blind asked for a count and then called.

James Leonard: A8 All in
[Removed:548]: A9

Both had nearly identical strong aces and hit their kickers on the 987 flop to leave Leonard in rough shape. The 9 turn improved [Removed:549] to unbeatable trips and that made the J river a formality. [Removed:549] scored the second elimination of this final day and Leonard bowed out in sixth place for $268,520.
