Alan Keating took his seat the WSOP $100,000 High Roller as the dinner break ended, and PokerNews tracked an orbit of his hands.
Hand 1
Leon Sturm opened to 20,000 from under the gun and Alan Keating defended his big blind. Keating checked as the flop came down K♠J♦4♠. Sturm bet 25,000 and Keating called. The Q♠ turn checked through to the A♣ river and Keating led out for 60,000. Sturm folded.
"Oh thank god," Keating said as he tabled 8♠8♥ although he admitted he could've been bluffing with the better hand.
Hand 2
Emilien Pitavy raised from under the gun and folded out the table.
Hand 3
Ramiro Salinas raised to 20,000 from the cutoff. Keating folded his button before Sturm and Seth Davies called from the blinds. Salinas continued for 24,000 on the 10♠9♥5♠ flop, which folded out Sturm. Davies raised to 65,000 and Salinas quickly released his hand.
Hand 4
The action folded to Keating in the cutoff and he followed suit in returning his cards to the dealer. Sturm raised to 23,000 from the button. Davies and Pitavy called from the blinds. The action checked through to the river for the board to read J♠6♠2♦5♥3♦. Davies checked and Pitavy bet 30,000, which was enough to take the pot down.
Hand 5
Keating opened to 20,000 from the hijack and Taylor von Kriegenbergh called from the big blind. Von Kriegenbergh check-called for 15,000 on the A♦6♦6♣ flop before the 10♥ turn checked through to the Q♣ river. Von Kriegenbergh fired out 25,000 and Keating quickly folded.
Hand 6
Keating folded under the gun, with Sturm raising to 20,000 from the next seat over. Salinas came along from the big blind but folded to a bet on the J♠2♠2♥ flop.
Hand 7
Sturm raised to 20,000 from under the gun. The play folded to Von Kriegenbergh, who asked Sturm how many blue T-100,000 chips he had. Once confirmed it was three, he three-bet to 75,000. Salinas and Keating folded in the blinds, and Sturm did the same.
"Most obvious bluff of all time," commented Keating.
"You play with me more than these guys," replied Von Kriegenbergh.
As the hand finished, defending champion Chris Hunichen joined the table.
