Lingham Flops Trips

Level 3 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Adrian Mateos raised under the gun to 10,000, and only Vinny Lingham called from middle position.

Both players checked the J66 flop, but when the 4 turn landed, Mateos resumed the betting, doing so for 25,000. Lingham called, and they saw a J river.

Mateos kept up the aggression, betting for 57,000. Lingham didn't take too long before flicking in a call, turning his cards over at the same time to reveal A6.

A surprised Mateos couldn't beat that and no longer needed to reveal his cards, so he returned them face down to the dealer.

Strong Start for Puetz; Withstands Theologis Aggression

Level 3 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Christopher Puetz was one player to register in Level 3 and he's off to a good start.

He opened to 10,000 from under the gun and saw Alexandros Theologis and Matthew Belcher call from the blinds.

Puetz continued for 10,000 on the K52 flop. Theologis put in the check-raise to 40,000, which folded out Belcher but Puetz stuck around.

Theologis made an overbet of 115,000 on the 10 turn, and once again Puetz called.

The A river checked through to showdown, with Theologis tabling AJ. Puetz had that pipped with AQ and dragged in the pot, with Theologis looking unsure how his opponent made it to the river.

Haxton Takes a Small One From Lingham

Level 3 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Vinny Lingham raised from middle position to 9,000 and met some resistance from Isaac Haxton, who chose to three-bet to 32,000. Lingham proceeded with a call.

Lingham had seen enough on the 97Q flop, though, as he check-folded to Haxton's continuation bet of 30,000.

Level 4 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Alex Foxen raised in middle position to 9,000, only to see a Mathew Frankland three-bet a couple of seats to his left. Frankland made it 32,000, and Foxen continued with a call.

Both players checked the 7JA flop, but when the turn 3 was revealed, Foxen decided to take over the betting lead, sliding out a bet of 32,000. Frankland called, and both players were happy to check down the 4 river.

Foxen turned over 108 for a missed straight and flush draw, which allowed Frankland to take the pot with his QQ.

Level 4 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Matt Belcher
Matt Belcher

Alexandros Theologis was just seen exiting the tournament area, with Matthew Belcher collecting his stack.

Belcher recalled the action to PokerNews.

Mathias Eibinger opened to 9,000 with Theologis calling on the button. Belcher squeezed to 50,000 from the small blind which pushed out Eibinger. Theologis then jammed for 315,000 and Belcher called.

Theologis had AxKx while Belcher had AxQx (suited).

Belcher paired up on the Qx10x4x flop to move in front. His lead was relinquished after a Kx turn, but the Qx river gave Belcher the checkmark for the pot and elimination.

While Theologis exited, Andy Wilson and Sean Winter registered for the event.
