Baxter Wins a Small Pot and Lang Wins a Big Pot

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante
Billy Baxter
Billy Baxter

Hand 1:
The action was picked up on the river with a board of 53QJJ, and Michael Lang was all in for his last 11,000 in the big blind, and David Lewis called from the small blind.

Lewis stated, "I have a queen".

Lang stated, "A queen what?"

Michael Lang: Q9 All in
David Lewis: Q7

Lang's kicker would play, and he scooped up a nice pot.

Hand 2:

Billy Baxter raised from the cutoff to 2,200, and Igor Alekseev called from the big blind. The flop came out with 99A, and Alekseev checked to Baxter, who continued with a bet of 2,500. Alekseev pondered a moment and folded.

Baxter jokingly stated, "I had to raise to get the other players out who might have a nine. I had Ace-jack".

Mahmood Extremely Short

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

Gregory Mccurry opened to 1,200 in hijack and received an all-in from Ayaz Mahmood for 2,100. Mccurry called taking them to showdown.

Ayaz Mahmood: K9 All in
Gregory Mccurry: Q9

The board ran A7K95. With a two pair Mahmood doubled up. But because he was still short despite it, he busted a few hands after.

No Straight Flush to See

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

Mark Jameson opened for 1,100 from hijack and got Ernest Bush in cutoff, and the blinds Gregory Wood in small and Chad Loube in big to call.

The flop came 429. With the players before him knuckling, Jameson continued with 2,100. Bush called, but Wood shoved all-in for 12,900, making Loube fold his hand. Jameson folded after but Bush made the call taking them to showdown.

Gregory Wood: 53 All in
Ernest Bush: K9

Wood had a flush draw and a straight draw while Bush made top pair. It really would have been nice to see a 6 or an A to drop on the following streets but, alas, that didn't happen for those watching or for Wood.

Instead, the 2 turn and the 5 river fell, awarding the pot to Bush and busting Wood out of the tournament.

Matusow Lays Down a Big One

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

With 9,200 in the pot, and a board reading 632 Adam Wilkinson checked his option over to Mike Matusow, who bet out for 6,500. Without thinking, Wilkinson placed in a huge stack of pink 5,000 denomination chips, that would have put Matusow all in for his remaining 21,500 had he called.

Wilkinson let Matusow know, that he "wasn't flushing", prompting Matusow to fold his overpair of 99 face up, and surrender the pot to Wilkinson. Wilkinson thought about showing his hand, before tabling 77 showing he would've been in awful shape had Matusow called.

Kazuhiko Yotsushika limped in the small blind and Victoria Livschitz checked her option. The dealer unfurled 7A2.

Yotsushika check-called Livschitz's 1,000 bet. The same thing happened on the 5 turn with Livschitz's 2,000 chip bet.

On the river 3, Yotsushika led with a bet of 5,000 which was enough to make Livschitz fold. Yotsushika claimed he had a flush as he scooped the pot. Livschitz replied, "I had a set."
