Final Day of $1,500 Freezeout No-Limit Hold'em Begins at 1 p.m.; Madanzhiev and Ramos Return

The final day of Event #52: $1,500 Freezeout No-Limit Hold'em commences at 1 p.m today at the World Series of Poker hosted in the Horseshoe and Paris, Las Vegas.

The event drew a huge 2,320 field, creating a total $3,077,145 prize pool, but only 29 players return today to fight for the top prize of $410,426. Yesterday saw a mammoth day of play as the day started with 353 players, of which 348 made the money. There was an epic money bubble which saw three players, including Joe Cada, burst the bubble splitting two minimum cashes between them, which all happened within the first level of the day.

Today players will return just two eliminations off the three table redraw, and there are a number of short stacks in play, so it's expected to move quickly.

Julio Belluscio tops the counts going into Day 3, shortly followed by fellow bracelet winner Asher Conniff. Kurt Fitzgerald is sitting comfortably in third place, and is one of the lesser-known players in the field.

After Day 2 started with nine 25K Fantasy players, only one remains in contention, Felipe Ramos (1,215,000). Ramos returns with around 20 big blinds to start the day.

There are five WSOP bracelet holders retaking their seats on this final day, all of which will be looking to secure another title and the coveted gold bracelet: Belluscio, Conniff, Stoyan Madanzhiev, Bryan Piccioli and Jeremy Saderne.

Madanzhiev saw lots of action during Day 2 and stole a number of pots. In one of the final hands of the day, he secured another pot after eliminating 2006 Main Event champion Jamie Gold by out-kicking him.

Ramos Takes Down Pot With a Straight

Level 26 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

With around 280,000 in the pot and the flop showing 109K, Felipe Ramos in the big blind checked to Matan Mesika in the cutoff. Mesika bet 80,000, which Ramos called.

On the 7 turn, Ramos led out with a bet of 235,000, and Mesika made the call.

Both players checked the 9 river, leading to a showdown. Ramos tabled J8 for a straight, which was enough for Mesika as his card found the muck.

Rossitto Finds a Double, Button versus Small Blind

Level 26 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Michael Rossitto raised in late position to 120,000 and Stoyan Madanzhiev went all in, covering, from the small blind. Rossitto made the call.

Michael Rossitto: AQ All in
Stoyan Madanzhiev: J10

The flop had Madanzhiev drawing thin when it fanned out AK8. The turned 4 didn't change anything and the 10 on the river improved Rossitto to the nuts, awarding him the pot.

Paul Snead Eliminated in 20th Place ($15,533)

Level 27 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Paul Snead
Paul Snead

Paul Snead opened the cutoff to 130,000 and Michael Rossitto three-bet the big blind to 410,000. Snead responded by moving all in for his remaining 1,250,000 and Rossitto snapped him off.

Paul Snead: AKAll in
Michael Rossitto: QQ

It was a classic flip, with Snead needing to see some improvement to stay alive.

Both bricked on the low 487 flop, and nothing changed on the 7 turn or 4 river.

Snead was more than covered by Rossitto, and it was the end of the road for him as he was eliminated in 20th place.

Samuel Rosborough kicked things off from middle position with a raise to 200,000. Action folded to Felipe Ramos in the big blind, who took his time before he announced his all-in. When the action was back on Rosborough, he snap-called.

Felipe Ramos: AQAll in

Ramos was hoping to see an ace or a queen on the board, but as it ran out 107Q8K, he was sent packing but managed to get the pay jump.

Conniff Sniffing at Second Bracelet; 3 Players Bag for Extra Day of $1,500 Freezeout No-Limit Hold'em

The energy was high entering Day 3 of Event #52: $1,500 Freezeout No-Limit Hold’em at the 2025 World Series of Poker hosted by Horseshoe and Paris, Las Vegas. A total of 29 hopefuls were whittled down to only three before bagging up and adding an unscheduled Day 4 to the docket. The three competitors are guaranteed at least $200,173, while vying for the $410,426 first prize.

Asher Conniff bagged the lead (21,200,000) but is closely followed by both Samuel Rosborough (19,375,000) and Michael Rossitto (17,400,00).

Day 3 Action

Action started off to a brisk pace as Ben Gazzola (29th - $12,762) and Daniyal Gheba (28th - $12,762) were quickly eliminated to instigate the three table redraw. Chips continued to get consolidated as the field narrowed down to two tables.

Eliminations came to a standstill with 12 players left, as there was a more than $6,000 pay jump, the field froze for nearly two full levels before losing Matan Mesika (12th - $23,788). Kurt Fitzgerald (11th - $29,923) proved to be the final table bubble boy when his pair of jacks didn't hold against the one overcard of Charlie Cuff.

Start of day chip leader, Julio Belluscio, wasn't able to keep his momentum and ultimately lost with a pair of nines off a very short stack, eliminating him in ninth place.

The only two-time bracelet winner left in the field, Bryan Piccioli, was able to find some crucial momentum when he made a straight against Rossitto and found a full double. It wasn't meant to be, as he eventually fell in sixth place when his pair of sevens was thwarted by the kings of Rosborough.

Rosborough had maintained a lead stack for most of the day, but as the night came to a close, with only three players remaining, it seemed no one was willing to give up ground and the stacks evened out even more when Conniff played a big pot against Rossitto that saw the prior pull off a massive check-raise on the river.
