That’s a wrap on Day 1 of Event #6: $1,500 Seven Card Stud here at Horseshoe and Paris, Las Vegas. The first stud event of the series attracted 377 entrants, bringing the prize pool to $519,977. After fifteen 40-minute levels, just 69 players remained at the end of the night.
Johnny Woolen bagged the Day 1 chip lead after finishing with 439,000, worth just under 37 big bets going into Day 2. Woolen is most closely followed by Matthew Valeo (353,300), while Robert Shepp rounds out the top three with 340,000.

Two 25k Fantasy Draft picks, Max Pescatori and Joey Couden, also found themselves among the top ten chip stacks of the night. Other notables to advance to Day 2 include Greg Mueller (169,500), Brian Rast (153,000), Frankie O'Dell (136,000) and defending champion Richard Ashby (36,500).
Others who were not as fortunate to advance include Scott Seiver, Ted Forrest, Calvin Anderson, Benny Glaser, Adam Friedman and Huck Seed, who fell in the last level of the night.
Play will resume on May 30 at 1 p.m. on Level 16, featuring an ante of 1,500 and limits of 6,000/12,000. Ten hour-long levels are scheduled on Day 2, with a 15-minute break for every two hours of play and a 60-minute dinner break after Level 21 at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Urbanovich called a bet from Henson on fourth street, but revealed the J♣ from his hand and folded facing another bet from Henson on fifth.
"You never bluff," Dave Stann said to Henson from across the table.
"I only bluff when I have nothing," Henson replied.

Seed check-called another bet from Dimento on fourth street, leaving just 3,000 behind. On fifth street Dimento bet once more and Seed called off with his remaining chips, putting himself at risk.
Seed had a pair of nines but was in bad shape against Dimento's pair of aces. Dimento improved to two pair, aces and kings, while Seed could not improve and was sent to the rail just before the end of the night.
