Tolkachov Scoops Lugibihl

Level 26

Aaron Lugibihl: XxXx / 538K / Xx
Sergei Tolkachov: XxXx / Q426 / Xx

Aaron Lugibihl was the bring in with the 5. Sergei Tolkachov completed his queen and Lugibihl called. Both players checked fourth street. Tolkachov check-called on fifth street.

On sixth street, Lugibihl caught a king to gain the betting lead. This time, he check-called against Tolkachov's four to a flush showing. Lugibihl called a bet on the river as well.

Tolkachov showed 763 for a flush and 7-6-4-3-2 low to scoop the first hand of the day.

In the next hand, Lugibihl and Tolkachov tangled again with Lugibihl taking it on seventh street with an uncalled bet.

Can Huck Seed Go All the Way in $1,500 Stud Hi-Lo?

Huck Seed
Huck Seed

It's been a comeback decades in the making.

Poker Hall of Famer Huck Seed's return at the 2025 World Series of Poker has been nothing short of remarkable thus far. With a rekindled love for the game, Seed has been grinding it out all summer as if it were 1996 all over again, when he captured poker's most prestigious event back in the day at Binion's Horseshoe in Downtown Las Vegas.

The four-time bracelet winner has already racked up ten cashes this summer — eleven if you include this one — and finds himself in a spot to capture his first bracelet since 2003.

Only ten players stand between Seed and the coveted prize as action resumes at 1 p.m. in the Event Center in the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas for the final day of Event #69: $1,500 Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better. Seed returns eighth in chips (635,000, 5 big bets), but if limit poker has taught us anything over the years, it's still anyone's game with a big scoop falling the right way.

Coming back as the overnight chip leader is Jay Kerbel (3,525,000 - 29 big bets). Fresh off a deep run in the $1,500 2-7 Triple Draw earlier (19th for $6,422), he jumped straight into this $1,500 Stud 8 and again is putting himself in bracelet contention.

Rounding out the top three are 2025 bracelet winner Blaz Zerjav (2,515,000 - 21 big bets), who could win a second bracelet in an event that couldn't be further removed from the first one he captured in Event #22: $25,000 High Roller 6-Handed No-Limit Hold'em. Canada's Aaron Lugibihl (2,350,000 - 20 big bets) sits in third when cards go back in the air.
