On a board of 106610, and 39,000 in the pot, Stephen Song led out from the big blind for 20,000. Dimitar Danchev called and the dealer laid out the 3 river.

Song slowed down, checking to Danchev who bet 45,000. Song wasted little time calling only to be shown the bad news. Danchev tabled 86, for a full house. Song mucked and Danchev added to his chip lead.

On a neighbouring table, Masato Yokosawa eliminated Patrick Kennedy, securing his place in the second round.

Keating Topples Lichtenberger Early in Round One

Level 5 : Blinds 800/1,600, 0 ante
Alan Keating
Alan Keating

A completed board of K8346 was spread across the felt with around 60,000 in the middle. Andrew Lichtenberger led out with a large bet of 80,000 on the river which sent Alan Keating into the tank. After using one of his time banks, Keating called and Lichtenberger was forced to show his A10. Keating whipped over 87 for a pair of eights and Lichtenberger was left on fumes.

"Time for the power limps," Lichtenberger said after the hand.

On the next hand, Lichtenberger limped in and Keating announced all in. Lichtenberger snapped off his last 13,000 and showed JJ which got a chuckled from Keating who revealed 107.

The flop came 1073 and Keating flopped two pair to take the lead. The 6 and 5 runout was no help to Lichtenberger who was eliminated and the two embraced after the match.

"What do I do now?" Keating asked. "I've never advanced before."

After Punnat Punsri found himself down to just 60,000 chips, him and Phil Ivey got all of their chips in the middle preflop which turned out to be a coin flip.

Punnat Punsri: AJAll in
Phil Ivey: 22

The flop of Q43 left Ivey in the lead with his pocket deuces. The K on the turn gave Punsri some more outs but the 3 on the river was not one of them. Ivey picked up the opening round win and will take on Alex Foxen in the next round in a star-studded matchup.

Level 6 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

Matthew Wantman has just emerged victorious in his first-round battle with Eric Wasserson.

Wantman raised the button pre-flop to 3,500 before calling a Wasserson three-bet of 10,500.

Wasserson saw the green light and when the 6x landed on the river, he moved all-in for roughly 45,000.

Kristen Foxen
Kristen Foxen

Mario Fata was hobbled after the previous hand left him with 16,900 after Kristen Foxen river jammed, eliciting a fold from Fata.

Fata then opted to go all in on the next hand for his remaining stack. Foxen settled on a call, and the cards were on their back.

Mario Fata: Q5All in
Kristen Foxen: K2

The queen was the first in the window when the flop came, but a king followed shortly after when the board ran Q6K. The 3 turn and the 8 river brought no help to Fata as he hit the rail.
