With the tournament on the bubble, action folded to Ilya Nikiforov in the small blind, who moved all in for 190,000. In the big blind, Jeffrey Hong took some time to make a decision. After a little while in the tank, he apologised to the table, saying he really wasn't sure what to do. Ultimately, he decided to call, putting Nikiforov at risk.
Ilya Nikiforov: A♣4♣
Jeffrey Hong: K♥4♦
It wasn't what Hong was hoping to see, as he didn't even have two live cards.
The deck took care of that for him, though, as the flop came down 3♦K♣7♠, moving him into the lead.
The 8♦ turn and 7♥ river couldn't provide a way back for Nikiforov, who vacated his seat and headed to the exit.
Three players were at risk after the second hand of the bubble.
The first was Fabian Gumz, who opened the action with a raise to 45,000. His only caller was Alexander Lynskey, who defended his big blind. Lynskey then check-jammed the J♦7♠K♠ flop, and Gumz snapped him off. The two waited for the floor's signal before showdown.
Fabian Gumz: K♦K♥
Alexander Lynskey: 6♠5♠
The A♠ peeled off on the turn, which was on track to brutally send Gumz away with less than a mincash, but the J♣ river denoted salvation, as his boat outdrew Lynskey's flush.
Isiah Ditoto was in danger from middle position, as he saw his 201,000-chip stack being called by Qiang Xu to his right.
Isiah Ditoto: Q♦Q♣
Qiang Xu: K♥K♦
Ditoto ran into kings which improved into a set on J♣4♣K♣. Ditoto still had a flush draw but the 10♠7♦ didn't complete it and he was eliminated.
On another table, it was a blind versus blind situation when Justin Vaysman went all in and Dominykas Karmazinas made the call in the big blind.
Justin Vaysman: K♥K♦
Dominykas Karmazinas: 10♣8♥
It looked like a safe double-up for Vaysman, but the flop gave Karmazinas a few outs with 7♣J♠4♠ for a gutshot. The 9♦ on the turn completed the straight, the J♣ river was just mandatory.
As both players busted in the same hand, they split the payout for the 122nd place.
On a board of Q♣Q♥K♥4♣ and with roughly 170,000 in the pot. James Obst checked from early position, and Biao Ding bet 70,000 from the hijack. Obst thought for a few moments before making the call.
Obst knuckled the action over to Ding on the 9♥ river, and Ding jammed for Obst's remaining 130,000. Obst thought it over for some time before making the call.
Ding showed a flopped boat with K♦Q♦ to claim Obst's bounty as Obst showed A♣K♣ for a pair of kings.
Action folded to Paul Hoefer, who moved all in for 135,000. Next to act, Ryuta Nakai followed suit, moving all in for 184,000. Finally, Mark Darner committed his stack too, covering the stacks of the previous two all-ins.
Paul Hoefer: A♠J♠
Ryuta Nakai: K♣Q♣
Mark Darner: K♠Q♠
The board ran out 10♠8♣10♣Q♦6♣, improving Nakai to a flush, and sending Hoefer to the exit.
Zdenek Zizka shoved from the cutoff for 320,000, and the table folded to Bernhard Binder in the big blind, who gave it some thought before he called.
Bernhard Binder: A♦8♥
Zdenek Zizka: 9♣9♠
Binder needed an ace for an immediate out, but the flop was not cooperative as it fanned out 5♥5♠3♦. The 10♠ turn was of no use for Binder, and the 5♦ river improved Zizka to a full house to eliminate Binder.
Vladimir Minko opened from the button, and Arthur Morris went all in in the small blind. With the action back to Minko, he made the call.
Arthur Morris: A♠9♣
Vladimir Minko: 5♠5♥
Morris hit his ace on the turn when the board showed 2♥6♠4♣A♥, but Minko had a few outs left and one of them was the 3♥ on the river, completing his straight, earning him a bounty and adding to his stack, whilst Morris was sent to the rail.
George Dolofan jammed for 34,000 from under the gun. Johanssy Joseph to his left raised to 85,000, then Mustapha Kanit seated on the next seat shoved for 265,000. Justin Saliba in the big big went deep into the tank and called, while Joseph called off his last 21,000.
Dolofan was lucky enough to hit two pair on 7♣Q♣4♦10♠2♠ to win the main pot and multiply his stack by more than five. Saliba with the best pair scooped the side pot while Joseph and Kanit were eliminated.
[Removed:548] opened the action to 50,000 from early position. Marc Rivera then shoved on the button for 172,000. Yuya Arito cold-called from the small blind, and [Removed:549] called too.
The A♥5♣5♥ checked through, before Arito bet 75,000 into an empty side pot on the K♦ turn. [Removed:549] made the call, which brought in the A♠ river. Arito continued for 150,000, and [Removed:549] shoved his covering stack. Arito couldn't have called any quicker, as he emphatically slammed his chips in and tabled A♦K♥ for top boat. [Removed:549]'s smaller full house with A♣4♣ was no good, and Rivera's 6♣6♦ sent him to the rail.
