Friendly Fire Before the Bubble

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Ray Attiyah just arrived at the table to see Colin Mchugh raise it up from middle position and Phil Hellmuth folded his Q♥5♥4♠3♥ face up in the big blind. Mchugh responded by throwing his A♣A♦10♥8♣ face up into the middle of the table as well.

"This is a talking and showing table?" Attiyah inquired.

"Friendly table," Alex Livingston replied.

"Until you beat me in a big pot," Hellmuth chimed in.

Upon the next pitch of the cards, Justin Armstrong raised the pot to 28,000 in middle position and was called by Brandon Crawford in the cutoff. The flop came J♥10♥8♦ and Armstrong piled all in for his last 35,000 which Crawford quickly called.

Crawford flopped two pair to take the lead against Armstrong's aces. The 2♠ and 7♣ runout changed nothing and Armstrong wished the table well before exiting.

Thomas Taylor raised to 20,000 from the hijack and Robert Mizrachi just called from the big blind. The flop came J♣4♠4♥ and Mizrachi check-called a bet of 20,000 from Taylor.

The turn was the 6♥ and both players checked to the 10♥ on the river. Mizrachi led out with a bet of 42,000 and Taylor looked him up. Mizrachi flipped over A♥A♣K♥Q♣ for a flush and Taylor mucked his cards.

Zhou Wins a Limped Pot

Quan Zhou limped from early position and Jeffrey Whittinghill called from the small blind. Dominykas Karmazinas checked out of the big blind, and they went to the flop three ways.

Whittinghill checked the 6♦10♠3♦ flop, and Karmazinas bet 20,000. Only Zhou called.

The 9♥ appeared on the turn and Karmazinas bet again, this time for 60,000. Zhou looked back at his cards and then raised to 260,000. Karmazinas folded, and Zhou added some chips to his stack.

Jorryt van Hoof opened from under the gun to 35,000, and when action folded to Phil Ivey, he three-bet to 120,000. The players in the blinds got out of the way before Van Hoof put in the four-bet to 410,000. After confirming the bet amount, Ivey made the call.

The dealer spread a 10♠5♦10♥ flop, and after a little bit of time to consider his options, Van Hoof moved all in, covering Ivey's stack.

Ivey wasted little time in folding, and Van Hoof pulled in the substantial pot.

Mike Gorodinsky started the action with a limp in the cutoff, prompting the button and Venkat Chivukula, in the small blind, to do the same. The big blind player checked, and the four went to a flop.

Action checked around to the button on the 7♣K♥K♣ flop, who bet 20,000. Chivukula called, the big blind folded, but Gorodinsky executed a check-raise to 65,000. The player on the button folded, but Chivukula called once again.

Chivukula checked for a second time on the A♦ flop, but Gorodinsky wasn't done betting, pushing out a bet of 55,000, which Chivukula called.

The river 3♦ slowed the action down, with both players checking, aware of the bubble waiting to burst. Chivukula turned over Q♦7♥7♦6♣ for a flopped full house, but was given the bad news when Gorodinsky showed he had flopped a bigger full house with K♠10♥9♦7♠.
