Sun Goes Down

Level 35 : Blinds 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante

Vadzim Lipauka moved all in from the button, with a stack that had both players in the blinds covered. The small blind got out of the way, and the action was on Jianfeng Sun.

Sun had the WSOP+ app open on his phone, watching the live tournament information, as the tournament was nearing a pay jump. After a few minutes and no eliminations, Sun made the call.

Jianfeng Sun: 99 All in
Vadzim Lipauka: A7

It was immediate pain for Sun, as the flop came A10J.

There was no help to be found on the 3 turn or the Q river, and Sun headed to the payout desk, without having made the payjump.

Tirel Digs His Heels In

Level 34 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

Brian Hardy opened from the button to 1,000,000, and only the big blind, Allan Tirel, made the call.

Tirel opted to check-call a bet of 500,000 on the A6K flop, and took the same strategy on the 2 turn; this time for a bet of 2,000,000.

The river 3 slowed Hardy down, as he knuckled the table when Tirel checked to him for a third time.

Tirel turned over K9, good for second pair, and Hardy mucked his cards face down.

As the dealer pushed the pot in Tirel's direction, Hardy advised his tablemate that he had pocket queens.

Majed Scores Double Knockout

Level 34 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

Rene Majed raised to 500,000 under the gun, Brian Dube three-bet shoved for 2,875,000 in early position, and Dwain Kinder called for 275,000 in the small blind. Majed called having both of his opponents covered.

Dwain Kinder: 97 All in
Brian Dube: KQ All in
Rene Majed: AJ

The flop came 2J7 with Majed still in the lead with his pair of jacks. The 4 turn and 2 river offered no help to Kinder and Dube and they were both sent packing.

Cruel Runner-Runner for Jaulain

Level 34 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

Action folded to John Ishak in the small blind, who moved all in, covering Alexandre Jaulain’s stack of about 6,500,000. Jaulain called, creating a large pot and the following showdown:

Alexandre Jaulain: AKAll in
John Ishak: A10

Jaulain was well ahead and strengthened his lead when the flop fell AK5, giving him top two pair. However, the 10 on the turn and the 10 on the river delivered a runner-runner full house for Ishak, sending Jaulain to the rail in dramatic fashion.
