Rousset's Hand Keeps Improving

Cyrille Rousset open-shoved in late position for 221,000 and got called by small blind Benjamin Nguyen putting Rousset's tournament life in jeopardy.

Rousset was ahead and further became the favorite when the flop came 9♦J♦8♠ giving him an open-ended straight draw. He improved his hand with a completed straight when the turn fell 7♠. It became even better when the river Q♦ dropped for the higher straight.

The dealer pushed the pot towards Rousset as Nguyen quietly watched.

Zengovski Fell Off Mcpeake

Felix Mcpeake opened on the button, and Toni Zengovski three-bet the big blind to 130,000 and Mcpeake called.

The 2♥8♦A♦ flop was bet by Zengovski to 62,000, and Mcpeake called.

Zengovski bet 140,000 on the 9♣ turn, and Mcpeake took some time before calling.

The 7♠ fell on the river, and Zengovski moved half his remaining stack, 128,000, into the middle, leaving just 150,000 behind. Mcpeake went into the tank and took around three minutes, but eventually flicked in a chip to call.

Zengovski instantly mucked, and no cards were shown, with Mcpeake taking down the pot.

There was quite a commotion at Table 402 in Horseshoe Blue, as a huge cooler had just taken place after a trap set by Assaf Zeharia. Action was recounted by players at the table as follows.

Palvinder Brar opened the action with a raise to 32,000 from early position, and Zeharia smooth-called. Shay Cohen then shoved all in from the button for around 250,000, and Brar did the same, except his was for just under 400,000. Zeharia called, showing that his plan had worked exactly how he wished.

It seemed as though Zeharia had flopped the other two dead, as the dealer put out J♦A♠9♣. However, both players picked up outs on the Q♣ turn as Cohen could now win with quads, and Brar had a gutshot. They both missed on the J♥ river as the hand ended in boat over boat, as Brar had the worst of it with two pair.

Huang Wins Big, Eliminates King

Kevin Huang opened with 32,000 in cutoff and got a three-bet from Andrew King in the small blind to 130,000. Huang shoved all in for almost 600,000, and King snap-called, putting his tournament life on the line.

The board ran 3♥9♦8♥7♦2♠ and when the last card dropped, Huang couldn't contain his joy and made a fist pump for the massive win.

Robert Brooks, directly to Huang's right, was stating he didn't like the table anymore as two eliminations happened within the same level. He looked at Huang's stack and said, "I am not okay with this."

The K♠4♣3♣ flop saw Pineault bet 27,000 and Rizzo folded, leaving Pineult to pick up a small pot.

A table across, Diego Poncedeleonsilva opened to 32,000 from the cutoff and Ivan Ruban raised to 100,000 on the button. Poncedeleonsilva called.

The 5♥J♣Q♣ flop was checked by Poncedeleonsilva and Ruban bet 80,000. Poncedeleonsilva quickly folded.

David Welch raised from late position to 32,000, Jorge Dominguez made the call from the hijack, and Russell Boyd also wanted to see the flop from the big blind. The board came out with J♥9♠K♦, and the two out-of-position players checked, and Dominguez bet out 32,000. Boyd folded, and Welch made the call.

On the turn 3♦, Welch checked again and Dominguez bet out 74,000.

Welch contemplated, but then, as he mentioned earlier, "We didn't come all this way to fold," and called.

On the river J♦, Welch quickly tossed out 200,000, and Dominguez quickly called to show Welch the bad news.

Welch tabled A♠J♣ for trip jacks, Dominguez showed 9♣9♦ for the full house.

Renke Gets Paid on Three Streets

Garrett Boltjes limped in from the hijack, before Kajetan Renke on his direct left opted to raise to 46,000. When action folded round to Boltjes, he just called again.

In fact, Boltjes did not take any aggressive action at all throughout the hand. Following two flat calls preflop, he then check-called the A♥6♣9♦ flop for 33,000, before doing the same on the A♣ turn, except this time the amount was 52,000. Boltjes then checked in the dark, as the 7♦ river peeled off. Renke fired a third barrel, for 64,000, and Boltjes put in the call.

He tabled K♥K♠ for two pair, but it was no good against the A♠3♦ of Renke, who scooped a huge pot that took him over the seven-figure mark.

Nicholas Amicucci opened to 32,000 in late position and received an all-in shove from Konstantin Puchkov in the small blind for 285,000. Amicucci snap-called and tabled his hand immediately.

Puchkov was a bit surprised when Amicucci showed his hand, so much that he tabled his own pocket aces more slowly than the other. They both watched the dealer display the board K♠10♦6♦6♣Q♠ knowing what the result would be.

Somewhat anti-climactically, they just pulled their chips back as the dealer chopped the big blind and the ante between the two of them.
