Zack In Reverse

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Dan Zack
Dan Zack

Steven Cabas opened from early position to 1,200, and former Player of the Year, Dan Zack, was next to act. Zack flicked in a call before action folded to the big blind, who came along to see three, too.

Cabas continued with a bet of 1,800 on the 710Q flop, which only Zack called.

Both Cabas and Zack checked the 6 turn, on their way to the 7 river.

Cabas continued with another check, which prompted Zack to place a bet of 5,000. Cabas made the immediate call and was able to beat the KQ of Zack with his AQ.

Haxton Min-Bets, Rudin Profits

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Isaac Haxton
Isaac Haxton

Simon Rudin opened his button, and Isaac Haxton called in the big blind. Both players checked the 73J flop to the 10 turn, where Haxton led out for 1,100.

Rudin called to the 8 river, which saw Haxton bet the minimum of 600. Rudin smiled at his opponent before he put in a raise to 5,000. Haxton quickly let his hand go, shipping the chips to Rudin.

Weisman Chips Up

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Four-way action to the 7J3 flop saw Nathaniel Katzoff, Timoteo Leonel and Dylan Weisman exchange a bet and calls, while Harry Brooks check-folded in the big blind.

Katzoff and Leonel checked the 8 turn, and Weisman fired 11,000 on the button. Only Leonel called to see the 4 river, checking to Weisman once more.

After counting out his chips, Weisman announced a bet of 38,000. Leonel took some time before letting his hand go, and Weisman collected the pot.

Lamb Doesn't Show to Afriat

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Three ways to the A66 flop, Eric Afriat called a bet of 2,000 and Ben Lamb then check-raised to 5,200 out of the small blind. That forced out the third player in the hand while Afriat called.

The duo headed to the 3 turn on which Lamb bet 8,500. Afriat smirked and eventually folded, then asked if Lamb would show his cards while he exposed his A10. Lamb double-checked his cards once more and then tossed them into the muck before stacking up the pot.

Afriat was not quite happy about that and suggested that he may reveal his dark side because of it.

Bleznick’s Six-Bet Ends With a Bang

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Jared Bleznick
Jared Bleznick

One of the biggest hands of the day so far just happened in the previous level.

Romain Locquet came in with a raise to 1,100 from early position before Shawn Cunix three-bet to 2,600 from the next seat. After a few folds, Jared Bleznick four-bet to 5,200 out of the big blind. Locquet stared Bleznick down briefly before five-betting to 16,600. Cunix folded, but Bleznick took some time of his own and then meticulously carved out a six-bet of 38,000. Locquet wasn't going anywhere just yet as he called to see a flop.

With almost 80,000 in the pot already, the two players saw the dealer fan out a flop of 493. Bleznick was first to act and tossed out a bet of 30,000, which Locquet called.

The dealer delivered the 9 on the turn, prompting Bleznick to jam his was 63,900 into the middle. Locquet smirked and then made the call to put Bleznick at risk.

Jared Bleznick: AA All in
Romain Locquet: 99

Locquet held quad nines, and Bleznick's fate was already set, as he was drawing dead before the river card even arrived. The river was irrelevant, and Bleznick's 2025 WSOP Main Event was over on Day 1, while Locquet moved into one of the top spots on the chip counts with a stack of almost 300,000.

Immediately after his elimination, Jeff Platt caught up with Bleznick to get his feelings and thoughts on the hand. Bleznick, still stunned, said:

"Pretty disappointing, the way i play tournament poker, I want to get a lot of chips early, that was probably the sickest beat I've taken all summer. I enjoyed the table, it was a lot of fun. I'd rather that happen today than four days in."

Taylor Folds to Sartin's River Bet

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Heads-up to a turn on a board of 5Q10J. Russell Sartin checked from the hijack and faced a bet of 23,000 by Esther Taylor out of the cutoff. Sartin quickly tossed in the call.

Upon seeing the 7 appear on the river, Sartin chose to lead out for 45,000. Taylor went into the tank for quite some time, did some inventory of her stack, looked back at cards, and then chose to fold and give up the pot to Sartin.

Gorman called with no hesitation.

Glaser tabled A9 for a flopped full house. Gorman showed AK.

Assorted Late Night Counts From the Horseshoe

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Jordan Griff has been eliminated a while ago and Jonathan Tamayo currently sits on nearly the exact stack he bagged up one year ago in the Horseshoe White section. On his table, Jessie Bryant has the largest stack and added some more chips when he bet the 5327 turn for 5,000 to force out the sole opponent.

Lampropulos Doesn't Believe ODB

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

David "ODB" Baker opened the cutoff to 1,200 and was called by Maria Lampropulos on the button as well as the big blind.

On the 852 flop, the big blind checked to Baker who bet 2,200, Lampropulos called, and the big blind folded.

The 5 turn checked through to the A river which saw Baker toss out a single T-5,000 chip. Lampropulos could take around a minute before she tossed out the call, and she got the bad news as Baker tabled A9 for the winner with his top pair.
