Schroeder Cracks Kilpatrick's Kings

Garry Kilpatrick led with a bet of 2,000 from early position on the J♦9♥8♦ flop. Kurt Schroeder replied with a raise to 4,000, and Kilpatrick three-bet to 9,000.

After taking some time, Schroeder made the call. The 10♦ turn produced checks from both players, and action repeated on the 3♥ river.

Schroeder showed Q♠J♣, and the dealer announced his straight.

"Of course you do," said Kilpatrick as he tabled K♠K♣ while watching the pot get shipped to Schroeder.

Francis Cruz Pena checked the K♠9♦3♠A♠ turn and then called a bet of 2,500 by Antoine Saout before he opted to lead the 2♠ river when a fourth spade appeared on the board. Saout had a shorter stack behind and gave it some thought before folding.

Next to two-time WSOP Main Event finalist is Omar Eljach, a former winner of the WSOP Europe Main Event. Both are in need of a double or even triple-up and Eljach jokingly said "just come back in two hours".

Three-way on a flop of 6♣2♥K♠ with already more than 15,000 in the pot, Arsalan Masud in the hijack bet 3,300. Mark Zapata check-called from middle position, and so did Enrique Read to his left.

All three of them checked the 9♠ turn leading to the K♦ turn where Zapata led out for 9,000. Read went deep into the tank and called, prompting Masud to fold.

Zapata flipped over A♣Q♠ for a pair with ace-high, so Read slammed 6♦5♦ for two pair to take the pot.

Action folded to Arturas Astrauskas in middle position, and he raised to 1,100. His raise gathered calls from no fewer than four players, including Maurice Paradis on the button and Gabriel Dvorak in the small blind.

The dealer burned and turned three, revealing a 6♠7♣8♠ flop. When given the opportunity, Astrauskas continued with a bet of 1,500. Only Paradis and Dvorak called.

There was no slowing down from Astrauskas on the 2♣ turn as he placed a bet of 3,500. Still unable to shake either of his opponents, they went three to a river.

Each player checked in turn on the 2♥ river, and when Dvorak exposed his 9♠9♣, both of his opponents mucked their hand, awarding him the pot.

The action was joined with roughly 7,000 already in the pot and a full board showing A♣7♠Q♠9♣8♥.

Joshua Adcock had checked the action over to Brendan Loftus, who chose to put out a bet of 2,500. Adcock responded with pure aggression, putting in a substantial check-raise to 17,500.

Loftus was left to try and figure out how best to proceed, and, after a little time considering his options, he decided folding was the best move.

Kotelnikov Shoves on Rodrigues

Andrey Kotelnikov opened from early position before Michael Rodrigues three-bet from the button, and Kotelnikov called.

On the 9♦6♥6♣ flop, Kotelnikov check-called a bet of 2,400 from Rodrigues.

Kotelnikov checked again on the 7♦ turn as Rodrigues fired again for 8,000, and Kotelnikov called.

On the 6♦ river, Kotelnikov checked for a third time to Rodrigues who bet 16,500. Kotelnikov responded with a check-jam for 45,100. Rodrigues, as the slightly covering stack, would go deep into the tank for almost three minutes before he let his hand go, as Kotelnikov sportingly tapped the table after a tough hand.

Loeliger Sends One Hopping Out

Paulina Loeliger was in middle position with a raise of 4,000 in front of her before Kenny Sung reraised to 15,000 in the cutoff. The table folded back to Loeliger and she called.

The flop came 10♥10♦5♠ and Sung moved all in for around 25,000. Loeliger quickly called to put him at risk.

Sung was looking for a king to stay alive against Loeliger's queens as the 10♠ turn improved her to a full house. The river was the 6♠ and Loeliger secured the pot to send Sung to the rail.

Jesse Capps was recently spotted in this section, but with only three ducks in front of him. "I had a lot more ducks, but the dealer told me to take them off the table," he said.
