Lampropulos Doesn't Believe ODB

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

David "ODB" Baker opened the cutoff to 1,200 and was called by Maria Lampropulos on the button as well as the big blind.

On the 852 flop, the big blind checked to Baker who bet 2,200, Lampropulos called, and the big blind folded.

The 5 turn checked through to the A river which saw Baker toss out a single T-5,000 chip. Lampropulos could take around a minute before she tossed out the call, and she got the bad news as Baker tabled A9 for the winner with his top pair.

The Curious Case of the Missed River Bet

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Kenna James
Kenna James

If Giorgos Onisiforou was hoping to play a little one-on-one poker, he'd need to find another spot.

Starting the action off, Onisiforou raised in early position to 1,300. Next to act, Kenna James called. The player on the button called, the small blind called, and of course, the big blind stuck around too.

The dealer spread a flop of 9910, and when action checked to him, an undeterred Onisiforou continued with a bet of 2,300. James called to his immediate left, and all other participants folded.

Onisiforou took a more cautious approach to the following streets. Check-calling a bet of 5,500 on the 5 turn, before checking again on the K river.

James took a moment or two to mull over his options on the river, but decided safety was paramount and checked back.

Onisiforou proudly tabled QQ, but received bad news. James had rivered a straight with his QJ.

"You forgot to bet", quipped Onisiforou. "You either had queens or kings", was the response from James.

Martosella Boats Up to Bust Ding

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Heads-up to the river with a little over 11,000 in the middle, Michael Martosella from the small blind and Jiasheng Ding from middle position saw the completed board of 4255Q.

Martosella led for 10,000 before Ding jammed for his remaining 24,000 or so, and Martosella snapped it off as the covering stack.

Jiasheng Ding: KQ
Michael Martosella: 22

Ding rivered top pair and mistakenly went for the whole lot as he value-owned himself to the rail against Martosella's full house.

Bleznick's Aces Brutally Cracked in Six-Bet Pot in WSOP Main Event

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Jared Bleznick
Jared Bleznick

The 2025 World Series of Poker Main Event has already dished out its fair share of brutal coolers and soul-crushing bad beats, but Day 1d may have taken things to a new level.

Among those to fall victim was Jared Bleznick, whose pocket aces were cracked in a massive six-bet pot worth 267,000 chips, a huge pot this early in poker’s World Championship.

And the drama didn’t stop there. Another player’s pocket kings were sent to the muck after their opponent called off 85 big blinds with nine-seven, while the final level of the night saw a full house run head-first into flopped quads.

Gutierrez tanked over the decision to risk his tournament life for a minute, before electing to fold.
