Yi Chips Up Against Truong

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

With the board reading 8628A, Tam Truong checked and then called a bet of 10,300 by Jae Yi to get shown the 88 for quads eights. Both parted ways soon after as the Paris Yellow section is starting to break more quickly now to make space for another event.

Baron Has Won a Flip

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

A preflop raising war ended with the preflop shove by Isaac Baron and he forced out Lester Edoc as well as Florian Gaugusch, while George Won eventually called all-in for just shy of the starting stack.

George Won: 99
Isaac Baron: AK

The K32 flop vaulted Baron into the lead and Won said "give me a nine one time". That one time was denied on the 7 turn and 10 river to knock out Won. Edoc mentioned he folded pocket queens while Gaugusch added "I also had ace-king but there was a four-bet and five-bet ...".

Timerman Flops A Set

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Geronimo Timerman raised to 2,000 from middle position and Ugo Taurines three-bet to 5,400 from the hijack to see only Timerman call.

The flop rolled out Q53 and Timerman checked over to Taurines who bet 3,300. Timerman released a very throated sigh before deciding to call.

Action checked through on the 107 runout and Timerman turned over 55 for a flopped set, which was good for the pot.

Ausmus Cedes

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Jeremy Ausmus
Jeremy Ausmus

Action was joined as the big blind, Jeremy Ausmus, and under the gun player James Morgan were competing for a pot already worth 7,000 chips.

The dealer spread a 933 flop, and Ausmus elected to check-raise. Morgan had bet 2,000, which Ausmus increased to 6,500. The flop betting didn't end there, as Morgan then three-bet to 16,000. Ausmus called, and the two took a turn.

Morgan continued for 15,000 on the Q turn, and again, Ausmus called.

The river 9 did nothing to slow Morgan down. Ausmus checked for a third time, and Morgan fired 30,000 into the middle.

Ausmus weighed up his options, but on this occasion, chose to fold.

Aido Sends Out McDonald

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

John McDonald got his final 24,000 into the middle from the cutoff and was at risk against Sergio Aido from middle position.

John McDonald: AJ All in
Sergio Aido: AK

McDonald was in rough shape against the dominating ace of Aido. The KJ4 flop gave both players a pair but McDonald could improve no further on the 610 runout as the Spaniard held on for the elimination as he approaches 200,000 early in Day 2.

Leja's Queens Cracked

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Tomas Geleziunas opened to 9,000 in hijack and received an all-in shove for around 28,000 from David Leja on the button sending Geleziunas to the tank. Geleziunas called after a few seconds, taking both of them to showdown.

David Leja: QQ All in
Tomas Geleziunas: AK

Leja, ahead with his queens, watched as the dealer flopped 496. Geleziunas needed an ace or a king to drop to push ahead, but the 6 turn didn't give that to him.

Leja needed to last one more card for a double up, but the river fell K giving the pair Geleziunas the pair he had been waiting for. Geleziunas scooped the pot as Leja left the table quietly.
