Lopes Raises Out Murata

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Eder Murata raised to 5,500 from early position, and Melanie Weisner in the cutoff, Douglas Lopes on the button, and Carlton Taylor in the small blind all called.

The flop rolled out 8K6 and Taylor checked to Murata, who bet 7,000 to see only Lopes call.

On the turn 10, Murata bet to the tune of 28,000 and Lopes raised to 63,000. Murata contemplated his decision for a bit, but decided to let his hand go and cede the pot to Lopes.

Chan Hero Calls to Eliminate Ashelm

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Lok Chan
Lok Chan

Robert Ashelm from the small blind and Lok Chan from the cutoff were heads-up to the completed board of Q8625 with around 135,000 in the middle already.

Ashelm would lead all-in for 73,000, sending Chan into the tank. He was clearly pained by the decision as he apologized to the table for taking so much time. In actuality, he took just over a minute before he stuck in the call.

Robert Ashelm: 55 All in
Lok Chan: 33

Ashelm had rivered a set but had no heart in his hand as Chan made an impressive hero-call with just the three of hearts to drag a massive one and eliminate Ashelm.

Barone Moving in the Right Direction

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Aaron Barone
Aaron Barone

The action started with a raise in middle position to 5,000. Gary McCoy then three-bet to 13,000 on the button. When the action got to Aaron Barone in the big blind, he then put in a four-bet to 33,000.

The original raiser folded, but McCoy made the call.

The dealer spread a flop of 31010 and Barone continued for 18,000. McCoy responded with a raise to 50,000, which Barone called.

The turn 5 saw both players check, and the dealer provided the 7 river.

Barone took a few moments before deciding to move all in, covering his opponent's stack. McCoy wasted no time in getting out of the way, returning his cards to the dealer.

Are the Poker Gods on Doug Polk's Side?

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

"Are they listening?" Doug Polk asked tablemate Ryan Depaulo during a conversation about the so-called 'Poker Gods'

"I hope," replied Depaulo. "You can have your own conception of the Poker Gods."

"Jeez Ryan," said Polk. "We're half-way through level one!"

"What is God?" said Depaulo jokingly.

Getting back to the poker, Polk raised to 5,000 from under the gun and got two callers including Mario Rodriguez. The three players checked the J97 flop and the turn was the K. Rodriguez check-called a 7,000 bet from Polk, with the third player folding.

The river J also went check-check. Rodriguez tabled A10 but was pipped by the AQ of Polk whose queen played and he took down the pot.

"You don't like to fold," Polk said to Rodriguez as he chipped up above 130,000.
