Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Gary Gurevich
Gary Gurevich

PokerNews caught up with Garry Gurevich, who is the youngest player remaining in the 2025 WSOP Main Event.

Born on April 20, 2004, the 21-year-old Gurevich shared that he won four Main Event seats from satellites, and using one of those, he is now in the money with a stack of 445,000.

Gurevich has also already won a $250 Daily Deepstack during the series, which contributed to his very impressive earnings of over $70,000 during the 2025 WSOP alone.

Ilani Holds For a Big Double Off Panyak

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Stephen Kehoe bet 18,000 from the cutoff on a flop of J64 and was called by Jordan Rapoport on the button and big blind Maxim Panyak. Ran Ilani then raised to 145,000 in middle position and only Kehoe and Panyak called.

The turn was the 8 and Ilani moved all in for 378,000. Kehoe quickly folded, but Panyak took a few minutes to confirm the amount before calling.

Ilani turned over AJ and told the dealer not to turn over the river card yet as he whipped out his phone to begin filming the action. Panyak had 108 for a pair and flush draw, but he missed the Q river and Ilani doubled up.

At the same table, James Pillon has built up a stack of 1,800,000. "You're giving me chip envy. Do you have me covered?" the slightly-shorter stacked tablemate Montgomery Cole joked with Pillon.

Margets Gets Double Check-Raised

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Leo Margets
Leo Margets

Leo Margets was first to act and raised to 25,000. It folded to Philippe Noble in the big blind, who defended. Margets continued for 17,000 on the 263 flop, which Noble check-raised to 73,000.

Margets quickly called to the 3 turn, where Noble reverted to a check. Margets then bet 55,000, and Noble raised all in for about 400,000. Margets instantly mucked her cards, sending the pot to her opponent.

"The Rich Get Richer"; Shaw Has Perfect Timing to Bust Two

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Carl Shaw
Carl Shaw

Carl Shaw raised to 28,000 in early position before Eric Worre moved all in for 260,000 in the hijack. Fernando Gutierrez also shoved for his last 190,000 in the cutoff as action went back on Shaw who snap-called.

Fernando Gutierrez: JJ All in
Eric Worre: 77 All in
Carl Shaw: AA

"Good timing," a tablemate told Shaw, who turned over two aces to leave both opponents in desperate need of help to stay alive.

"Any seven will do," Worre said, standing up from his seat filming the action as the flop came 633. The turn was the Q and Worre repeated his pleas for a lucky seven, but no helped arrived on the 5 river and Shaw scored the double knockout.

"The rich get richer," another tablemate added.

Negussie Negated After Five-Bet Bluff

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Yosef Negussie
Yosef Negussie

Alen Tenorio opened his button to 22,000, which Yosef Negussie three-bet to 80,000 in the small blind. Tenorio clicked it back to 165,000, and Negussie responded with a five-bet to 400,000.

Tenorio then moved all in, and Negussie called off for 575,000 in total.

Yosef Negussie: A10 All in
Alen Tenorio: KK

Negussie needed to hit running aces after the 66K flop made Tenorio a full house. The 10 turn left Negussie drawing dead, rendering the 4 river meaningless.

Poroliev Has Snyder Talking to Himself

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Ivan Poroliev
Ivan Poroliev

Around 350,000 was in the pot as Ivan Poroliev and Steven Snyder saw the turn on a board of 8792. Poroliev then bet 150,000 from under the gun and Snyder called in early position.

The river was the 10 and Poroliev moved all in for 465,000. "This is so sick. I'm supposed to call," Snyder said.

Snyder spent several minutes muttering to himself as he considered the decision, but he eventually ended up folding. He then grabbed Poroliev's cards and pretended to look at one, hoping that Poroliev would oblige, but Poroliev returned them face down.

2005 Main Event finalist Scott Lazar was recently eliminated on another table. "Queens against kings. Oh well. Better luck next year," Lazar said as he made his exit.

Big Stack Shift

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Raoul Kanme
Raoul Kanme

Action was picked up with the board completely laid out with 223810 and around 500,000 in the middle.

Alvaro Puchol in early position checked to Raoul Kanme in the cutoff, who went all in for 405,000. Puchol needed some time to think about this decision; even though he wasn't at risk, he had a lot to lose. In the end, he made the call, and the cards went on their way back.

Kanme showed AA for two pairs, aces and deuces. As it was an all-in situation, Puchol was forced to show his cards, and he tabled AK for ace high.

Buhahiov Stuns Obst on the River

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
James Obst
James Obst

Joshua Boulton raised to 20,000 in middle position and Nazar Buhaiov three-bet to 55,000 in the hijack. James Obst then moved all in for 150,000 on the button and Boulton folded, while Buhaiov took a few minutes and eventually called to put Obst at risk.

James Obst: AJ All in
Nazar Buhaiov: A10

Obst had Buhaiov dominated as the KJ3 flop gave him a pair, while Buhaiov picked up a straight draw. The 3 turn was safe for Obst, but Buhaiov caught the Q on the river to make his straight and send Obst to the rail.

Confusion, Rulings and Exposed Cards

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Vinicius Camargo
Vinicius Camargo

It was immediate action on Table 531 in the Main Event.

When the under-the-gun player folded, the dealer pulled in his cards, but also accidentally pulled in the cards of the small blind player, as he was stacking chips from the previous hand and hadn't yet 'protected his cards'.

The next player to act, Jon Kyte, put in a raise to 22,000, but as he did this, the players at the table believed the hand to be a misdeal. The confusion at the table led to Vinicius Camargo sharing his cards with the players sitting next to him, exposing pocket jacks, as he believed he was about to return them to the dealer.

Queue the floor being called. A tournament official arrived, took stock of the action and made a ruling:

1. Because there had been action, the hand wasn't a misdeal.
2. Camargo's hand wasn't dead, but as he had shown two players, he must expose his cards to the whole table.

He turned over JJ.

The hand was now ready to resume, and action was on Camargo, still facing the raise of 22,000.

Camargo responded with a three-bet to 55,000, before one seat to his left, Max Pinnola, four-bet all in for 146,000.

The action returned to Kyte, who folded, and back to Camargo.

Camargo went deep into the tank, knowing that his opponent knew his hand, and still elected to move all in.

After some time, he chose to call anyway.

Max Pinnola: AQ All in
Vinicius Camargo: JJ

The dealer provided a 224K8 board, which was no help to Pinnola; and as he gathered his belongings and left, the rest of the table discussed the very unique hand they had just been a part of.
