Full Double for Birmingham

Level 19 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Todd Birmingham started the action with a raise to 30,000 in middle position. Adam Grovenstein responded with a three-bet to 75,000 from the button. Action folded back to Birmingham, who moved all in for 290,000.

Grovenstein seemed unhappy at the position he had ended up in. Unsure how to proceed, he went into the tank to think everything through. After some time to consider, he chose to call.

Todd Birmingham: AK All in
Adam Grovenstein: AJ

It was a clean runout for Birmingham, as the dealer spread a 65728 board, earning him a full double-up.

Short Saved By a Miracle Runout

Level 19 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

John Short and Kang Chong saw a flop of 886 when Short got his last 250,000 in the middle from the hijack and Chong put him at risk in the cutoff.

John Short: JJ All in
Kang Chong: A8

Short showed down two jacks, but Chong had flopped trips to leave Short in danger of elimination. The turn, though, was the J as Short spiked a full house. Chong needed to make quads to score the knockout, but instead it was Short who hit the last jack on the J river to secure the double-up.

"Wow, what a turn," Chong said with a laugh as Short raked in the pot.

Ponce Goes Deep into the Tank

Level 19 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Diego Ponce
Diego Ponce

Daniele Primerano kicked the action off with a raise in early position to 30,000, and the player to his immediate left called. Action was then on Diego Ponce in the cutoff, who put in a three-bet to 175,000.

When play folded back to Primerano, he moved all in for 1,375,000. The player to his left folded, but Ponce wasn't so quick to muck his hand.

Ponce went deep into the tank. A few minutes passed by, then a few more minutes. He then employed some table talk, trying to get more information.

"Are you nervous?" he asked Primerano.

"It's a big pot,” replied Primerano, "A little bit [nervous].” "In any case, I would prefer you fold,” continued Primerano.

Armed with precious little extra information, Ponce returned to trying to figure out what to do. After a couple more minutes passed, and with a painstaking look on his face, he elected to fold.

Koray Korkmaz: KJ All in

Already ahead, Levy's lead got strengthened on the flop of Q104 but Korkmaz had a chance as his outs increased with an open-ended straight draw. The turn 8 didn't change anything and the river 2 sealed Korkmaz fate. Korkmaz headed out to the payout counter as Levy scooped the pot.

Nathan Strange: KQAll in
