Eychenne Waiting in the Weeds

Level 19 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Thomas Eychenne opened to 30,000 in early position and Nick Pupillo just flat-called in the cutoff. They went heads-up to a flop of Q97 and Eychenne continued with a bet of 40,000 which Pupillo called.

The turn was the J and the action slowed as both players checked to the J on the river. Eychenne checked again and Pupillo wisely checked it back. Eychenne sheepishly turned over 99 for a full house and Pupillo conceded the pot.

Eisenberg Can't Look, Shao Eliminated

Level 19 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Lara Eisenberg
Lara Eisenberg

The action began with a raise from early position to 35,000. Bob Shao then moved all in for 160,000, a couple of seats over. Lara Eisenberg was next to act, and chose to call the all-in, before Sam Chartier cold four-bet from the big blind to 400,000.

The original raiser folded, and the action was back on Eisenberg. She looked tortured, trying to decide what to do, she counted and recounted her stack. Three or four minutes passed before she moved all in, a five-bet to 535,000. Chartier made the call, and the cards were flipped over.

Bob Shao: AQ All in
Lara Eisenberg: JJ All in
Samuel Chartier: AK

Eisenberg took a few steps away from the table and faced the other direction, unable to watch the runout.

The dealer spread out a 624 flop, followed by a 7 turn and a 9 river. A player not involved in the hand let Eisenberg know it was good news, and she could turn around.

As the pot was being tidied and sent in the direction of Eisenberg, Kenny Hallaert, also at the table, joked, "You tanked so long the other guy [Shao] made a pay jump.”

Guy Leathley
Guy Leathley

The action was picked up with the board fully spread 86749 and around 900,000 already piled in the middle.

Guy Leathley, first to act from middle position, led out for 90,000, leaving the pressure on Leon Sturm in the cutoff. Sturm took his time, considered his options, but ultimately flicked in the call.

Leathley tabled JJ for an overpair, and that was enough, Sturm sent his cards into the muck, conceding the sizeable pot to Leathley.
