Adam Krach raised to 50,000 from the hijack before Joseph Henry jammed for 555,000 from the cutoff. Krach quickly called to send them to a showdown with Henry at risk.
Joseph Henry: Q♣Q♥
Adam Krach: A♥K♠
Krach gained a couple of outs on the J♦10♥7♣ flop.
The 8♥ turn was of no consequence, and the 5♠ river completed the board to give Henry the pot to the dismay of Krach.
Picking up the action on the turn, there was around 500,000 in the middle with the board reading A♦10♠8♣3♠. Vladimir Nex checked from under the gun and Jose Valerio slid out a bet of 155,000 in middle position. Nex called and the K♥ landed on the river.
Nex announced all in and Valerio was put to the test for his remaining 360,000 chips. After spending nearly three minutes in the tank, the clock was eventually called and Valerio literally ran out of time as his hand was declared dead. The pot was shipped to Nix and neither player showed any cards despite some probing from the table.
Luka Bojovic raised to 50,000 in the hijack and then called the preflop shove by Alexandros Kolonias in the small blind for only 130,000.
Alexandros Kolonias: Q♥Q♣
Luka Bojovic: A♥7♦
The 9♦6♠5♠ flop gave Bojovic additional outs with the gutshot but the 5♥ turn and 6♣ river runout were no threat for 2019 WSOP Europe Main Event champion Kolonias.
Joshua Abiscott and Matija Kajtez took turns with some preflop raises before Abiscott found himself all in and at risk for around 800,000. The cards were tabled and it was a cooler that saw Kajtez in the lead.
Joshua Abiscott: K♠K♥
Matija Kajtez: A♥A♣
However, the flop came K♣6♥2♠ and Abiscott let out a roar after spiking a set of kings. "King! That's the king, baby! Come on!"
The 6♠ and 5♣ completed the board and Abiscott held on for a double up.
"Did you win the hand?" someone from another table asked.
Isaac Haxton looked at Q♠Q♦ in the cutoff, which he raised to 55,000. Alessandro Predaroli elected to three-bet his A♣9♠ on the button, dropping a reraise to 165,000 over the line.
Haxton spent some time in the tank before he four-bet all in, covering Predaroli. Predaroli quickly folded as Haxton won the pot without showdown.
Myles Barker opened to 50,000 from under the gun and Nazar Buhaiov called in the next seat before Stanley Lee three-bet jammed a stack of around 600,000. Barker folded and Buhaiov called.
Stanley Lee: 9♦9♥
Nazar Buhaiov: J♠J♣
Lee was pipped and no superheroes came to save him as the board ran out A♣A♥K♥2♦2♥ to confirm his elimination.
Jesse Simon raised to 50,000 in early position before Charles Lee three-bet to 200,000 in the hijack. Alexandro Tricarico then moved all in for 500,000 in the big blind, Simon folded, while Lee snap-called.
Alexandro Tricarico: A♠A♥
Charles Lee: A♦K♦
"Aces. Let's go," Tricarico said heading to the flop, which came A♣6♥J♠ to give him top set. The rest of the board ran out 4♠Q♠ and Lee handed over the double up.
Damien Luis raised J♦J♣ from the button to 50,000 and Josselin Gardes called in the big blind with K♣Q♦.
On a low flop of 6♥6♣4♥, Gardes check-called a bet of 30,000 from Luis to the 3♥ turn, where this time Gardes check-folded when Luis threw in 190,000.
In the next hand, Luis raised to 50,000 in the cutoff holding A♣6♣ and Greg Merson called on the button with 8♠8♣.
A flop of 5♥3♣7♠ hit the felt and Luis fired 30,000, only to be met with a raise to 105,000 from Merson. Luis called.
When the 9♥ came on the turn, Luis checked and Merson bet 155,000 with his pair of eights. Luis had a double gutter, and put in a check-raise to 350,000, which got a snap-fold from Merson.
Dong Chen raised to 380,000 under the gun, leaving himself just one 5,000 chip behind, and Paul DiMascio reshoved in the hijack. The table folded back around to Chen who checked the clock to see how many players were left before tossing in his last chip.
Dong Chen: 9♠9♣
Paul DiMascio: A♣K♣
"Please," DiMascio pleaded going to the 7♠6♥3♥ flop. "Oh God," he added as he missed the 4♦ turn, but the A♥ river gave him top pair and the bustout.
"Yes!" he shouted out, lifting his arms into the air. "Sorry, I get a little too emotional," he said to his tablemates while Chen was sent to the rail.
"I get emotional, too. You're Spanish, you're bred to be emotional," tablemate Richard Buckingham said to Juan Carlos Vecino.
Nicholas Danias raised to 50,000 from early position and was called by Yuya Sakamoto. Octavian Voegele chose to call from the hijack before Brian Tolley decided to go all in for 400,000 even.
Steven Alper elected to call Tolley's all in. The rest of the table folded after some deliberation to take Tolley and Alper to a showdown.
Brian Tolley: K♣Q♣
Steven Alper: A♠K♥
Tolley was behind with a dominated king, but the flop gave him plenty of equity when it fanned out 2♣6♣5♦.
The 8♦ was not what Tolley needed, and the K♦ gave both players a pair, with Alper holding the better kicker as Tolley was eliminated.
