Yuchen Chen made it 50,000 to go in late position. It folded to Stephen Hesse in the big blind, who three-bet to 180,000. Chen called to the Q♣3♦Q♠ flop, where Hesse continued for 100,000.
Chen called to the 9♣ turn, where Hesse slowed down and checked. Chen responded with a bet of 150,000, which Hesse quickly called.
The J♣ river was checked to showdown, and Hesse's K♠K♥ defeated the A♦K♣ of Chen as a massive preflop cooler was avoided.
Three players saw the flop come down Q♠J♠4♣. Marc Fiorentino checked from the big blind before Jay Nguyen bet 60,000 from early position. Jonathan Azoulay called from the next seat, and Florentino called as well.
The action checked to Azoulay on the 2♣ turn and he bet enough to put Florentino and Nguyen all in. Florentino immediately folded, but Nguyen went into the tank. After a minute or so, Nguyen folded, allowing Azoulay to drag in the pot.
William Camp raised to 50,000 under the gun, Diogo Ferreira Da Silva moved all in for 230,000 in middle position, and Camp called.
Diogo Ferreira Da Silva: A♣Q♠
William Camp: 6♣6♦
Ferreira Da Silva was racing for his tournament life, but the 8♣9♦3♥4♥4♠ board provided no help against Camp's sixes and he was sent to the rail.
At another table, a massive pot was brewing between Muhamet Perati and Rene-Charles Angelil as nearly 1,000,000 was in the middle on a board of 7♠2♠3♦4♦9♦. Angelil then bet 850,000 from the hijack.
Perati was in middle position and tanked for nearly five minutes before calling. Angelil could only show A♠10♠ for ace-high, while Perati had A♥7♥ for a pair of sevens to win the pot.
Players in the World Series of Poker Main Event are now on break for 20 minutes. A total of 371 remain in the hunt. Play will resume at the 15,000/30,000 blind level.
Two short stacks were all-in and at risk over on table 620 moments after the action resumed and both Oystein Kristoffersen as well as Dianlei Zhang were looked up by Yaichi Fukao.
The pocket pair fell behind on the K♥9♦7♣ flop but gained equity with the 6♦ turn. Any eight, six or ten would now help and the 5♣ river was among those outs to secure the double elimination for Fukao.
Rory Monahan made it 80,000 to go from middle position with 6♥6♣ and Greg Merson three-bet to 130,000 from the cutoff with A♠Q♦. Steven Touitou then shoved 335,000 from the small blind, Chris Viox shoved 1,085,000 from the big blind, and both Monahan and Merson folded.
Steven Touitou: A♦J♦
Chris Viox: A♥K♦
Touitou had run into Big Slick and didn't get any help on the 4♣7♥10♣ flop. However, the J♠ on the turn paired his jack and left him one card away from a much healthier stack. Viox was looking for a king or a queen, but couldn't find it with the 6♦ river, meaning a portion of his stack was sent over to Touitou.
"Let's f****ing go, Steven!" shouted someone from the rail.
Fabrice Bigot put in the minimum raise to 60,000 in early position. Joey Padron called in the cutoff, and Isaac Haxton defended his big blind.
Haxton checked to Bigot on the 7♣Q♠6♥ flop, and the Frenchman continued for 90,000. Padron and Haxton both called to the 7♦ turn, which was checked around.
The Q♥ river then completed the board. Three more checks followed, and Padron's 8♥8♦ took the pot when Haxton tabled 9♣8♣ and Bigot showed down K♥9♥.
