Level 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Thomas Boivin
Thomas Boivin

In a limped pot to the Q4A, Thomas Boivin bet 30,000 from the small blind, and Stephen Hesse called in the big blind. The 2 turn then checked through to the 9 river, which Boivin also checked.

Hesse fired 35,000, and Boivin put in a massive check-raise to 400,000, more than half his stack. After some minutes in the tank, Hesse called.

Boivin showed K5 for the nuts, and Hesse quickly tossed his QJ in the muck, having called with second pair.

Merson Correctly Folds a Straight

Level 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Santiago Montes opened from middle position to 60,000 with KJ and Greg Merson defended his big blind holding 86.

They both picked up something on the 8710 flop and Merson check-called a bet of 45,000 from Montes.

A 7 on the turn was checked through and both hit a straight on the 9 river. Merson threw out a bet of 50,000, then Montes announced a raise to 175,000. Merson sat still with his gallon of milk in front of him and took some time to think about it before he came to the correct conclusion and folded.

O'Donnell Runs Out of Chips

Level 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Luke Chung
Luke Chung

After his table change, Luke Chung was rewarded a double-up while the dealer announced "we have a spill" as the drink of Paul Gibbons next to Chung had hit the carpet.

For Chung's double-up hand, it was also a dirty job as he cracked the pocket aces of Shaun O'Donnell who then busted shortly after. The cards of O'Donnell were already in the muck while he paid off 820,000 to Chung, who three-bet preflop and called the four-bet shove with KK.

On a board of K853Q, the pocket aces were cracked and Chung also mentioned in table chat after that he had done the exact same thing one day prior.
